60 /100 Pen-y-Cae Inn (Restaurant) BRECON ROAD Located in a brick building only a few minutes from the excellent Ancient Briton. We sat down in chesterfield chairs by the fire place and had a good relaxing time drinking two of their beers while waiting for the bus to Neath. Brick and wood interiors to the pub/bar room with a dining section to right and upstairs. Only a few, but interesting, beers available. Friendly service. (Visited with Finn 02.10.2018). |
78 /100 Ancient Briton (Bar) BRECON ROAD Far out in the Welsh countryside, close to the Brecon Beacons National Part, we found this gem of a well-kept pub. A classic British pub at its best, with a horseshoe bar serving different comfortable seating sections, and a dining area to the left. Carefully decorated. A full range of 15 hand-pulled cask ales during the weekends, about half of them operating at our stay early on a Tuesday afternoon. Music free. Attentive and friendly service. 60 /100 Pen-y-Cae Inn (Restaurant) BRECON ROAD Lovely countryside pub with a limited selection of beers. |
80 /100 Ancient Briton (Bar) BRECON ROAD Lovely countryside pub with well treated casks. Food looked very good as well. Be sure to visit it at weekends when all the taps are on. A bit long detour from Swansea - but at weekends it may be worth it - combined with Pen-y-Cae Inn. |
