60 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON This is an old country pub in the heart of the village. A bit of a mission to get to and park up but once there it's a friendly, comfortable pub. Just one of their own beers on sale on our visit, are they still brewing on site? or is it brewed elsewhere now? The beer range is much reduced post covid, with mostly nationally available brands now sold. The food is very good here. |
76 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON My first stop on my Wales tour, a 3 mile walk from Mumbles on the back roads & footpaths. A selection of 3 of there own beers on tap.. the pub was fairly busy for a Monday mid to late afternoon with locals. I seemed to be the only tourist. A friendly landlord & lad pulling the pints who were chatty & gave me further advice on where to visit locally. |
68 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON 2018-02-28. Nice stone walled pub, good amount of seating. Fairly quiet with only a handful of other patrons. Cricket on tv, and two gents at the bar discussing last nights Swansea win. We've missed the food unfortunately, bad timing on our part. Tiny car park was full despite mostly empty pub and most of the street parking was taken so we had to park well down the street. Server friendly enough. Beer selection is just okay, with their own beers being the primary attraction. Pretty cold inside, they stoked up the fire just as we were leaving! Nice place, we would have liked to have stayed longer but I needed to eat. |
30 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON Poor food hygiene (ill twice after visiting!) and speed, moderate price, fair selection.
Beer excellent. |
70 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON Cozy place at the edge of the village. Quiet when we were there. Good food. Their own beers are pretty tasty, and there is a guest beer as well. |
74 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON Stone built, cozy village pub in the centre of Bishopston with a patio in front of the house.Their own - Swansea - beers are worth a detour. Nice stop if You are travelling the Gower. |
66 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON Nice old pub with a local friendly feel. Quite roomy inside with plenty of places to sit. Swansea beers on tap and a couple of other beers. Take outs available. Just a nice pub really. Not much parking outside. Would get busy in summer as it is on the way to the beaches down the Gower.Im taking the bus next time so I can sample a few more. |
76 /100 50 BISHOPSTON ROAD, BISHOPSTON This is a friendly, stone built, village pub, dating back to the 1860s. It’s a lot more roomy inside than it looks from the outside. It was fairly quiet when we visited mid-afternoon, but, as this is in a holiday area, I would imagine it can get quite busy in summer. If arriving by car, don’t bother trying to find a space in the miniscule car park in front of the pub if its crowded - go a little way down the hill and there’s a parking area on the right. There’s food available, although we didn’t try it. The main reason to visit is for the Swansea Brewing Co beers that are brewed on the premises. Although they’re available in a few other pubs in the area, the widest range is available here. There are always three Swansea beers on handpump, plus a guest or two (Gales Trafalgar when we there), Marston Pedigree and Courage best (why?). An essential stop if you’re in the area. |
