“Right in downtown Kaslo this place has a great patio both inside the building and also some extra tables out on the street. Service was decent enough, some standouts in their beer selection but also some mediocrity. Definitely a worthy stop while in Kaslo, light years ahead of the other beer spot in town, and certainly worth your time if passing through.“

“This isn't in fact a brewpub and there is no indication at all that they brew anything in 2020. It's a pretty tame little pub with an extremely disappointing menu of beers, just a few locals from up and down the road but they will throw them into a flight for you. If that doesn't jive they have some Budweiser (boo) in the fridge in bottles. This is a part of the Kaslo Hotel, where I stayed, incredibly overpriced but probably one of the best hotels in the area - clean rooms, big balconies with great lake views, so maybe the premium is sort of worth it but still too much. Go figure. There's absolutely no point to visit here, go a block south to Angry Hen which is doing some really great things.“

“A brewery in a town of less than 1,000 people in the middle of nowhere? Yep. About an hour's drive north from Nelson, with gorgeous scenery on the way -- that makes it worth the drive alone. The brewery is located on the main street in the town centre, with a patio that overlooks the stunning mountain scenery. 10 taps, with 9 house beers and a guest cider when I visited. Flights of 4 for $9.75 (incl . tax). Beer quality is pretty middling, with the dry stout being the standout -- the others need work. Friendly service. Not worth a special trip, but if you have time or are headed near here, it's a fun stop.“
