“One of the most atmospheric pubs I've visited, several rooms with lots of nooks and crannies and tons of stuff. Just one real craft beer on tap, a very tasty IPA from Dead Centre, just across the street. More of a whisky bar with an extensive selection. Food as well. And the best part: I could see my pillow from my barstool.“

“Large place smack in the centre of town, on the river across from the castle. Nice view of said castle from outdoor picnic tables, indoor bar counters and stools, and indoor restaurant tables. Beers vary in quality, but the hoppy stuff were my session favourites. Flights are three four ounce pours (more or less) but you can't include the guest taps (there are several) on your flight. Pizza is pretty decent. OK stop, especially if beer quality evens out.“

“pleasant and cool place in the nicer side of Athlone with a nice cool vibe. Nice selection of interesting Irish and American micros complement the usual suspects of an Irish pub. The owner is a nice friendly guy who loves to talk beer, is not afraid of geeky questions and even gave me cider brewing tips. A very nice place to come to when in Athlone.“
