72 /100 9 GREAT NORTH ROAD 2023-07-18. Gorgeous location on the water. Indoor seating, Good sized patio and a larger biergarten - the latter of which has no food service - with nice views of the river and bordered by two bridges. 12 taps, 9 beers on today. We tried a huge flight of eight on a tray reminiscent of the rail bridge. Food was pretty good - we shared pulled pork and fried chicken sandwiches. Beers are mostly just okay / accessibly oriented with a couple of highlights and a couple of lowlights. Nice spot. Well worth a visit to enjoy the views and space. Service was friendly but busy.
By coincidence, this was my 1000th Ratebeer Place Rating at the time of entry which is kind of fun. |
74 /100 9 GREAT NORTH ROAD Had the fortune to eat here the other day, during a trip into town from the cottage. Ate outside as per our stage 2 opening, and it the first restaurant the family has eaten at since the beginning of the end times. Food was solid, higher end of standard pub fair. Service was also good. Timely and attentive. View over the river and of the trestle was great. Much better option than the places down by the Sound. |
