“This is located a few miles from downtown but there a restaurant and a distillery share the same complex, further warranting a visit. Telluride Brewing is mainly a production operation but they've set up just a few tables amidst the brewhouse and some outdoor tables too. There is no bar seating nor any space for it. The bartender was super nice and the beer is quality. A good variety of smaller batch stuff was available along with the flagship offerings I see all over the place. I didn't get to visit a lot of simple brewery taprooms on this road trip so it was nice to just have a pint in this bare bones mountain establishment.“

“I stopped in here mainly for the pizza which was quite excellent. It wasn't quite mountain pie considering the heft of the crust, but the toppings were fresh and plenty hearty. Great sauce too. I was impressed with the beer selection. It's not necessarily gonna blow you away but there are plenty of offerings from all over. I did see Sweetwater on tap which is a very unusual sighting for these parts. The interior is fairly modern and nice without being fancy by any stretch. They seem to be constantly busy. The tap selection rotates pretty frequently. Prices are not too bad especially considering this is Telluride.“

“Hung out here for dinner and two beers. The food was really good, expensive (as you would expect in a ski town), but quite good. I tried their Citra IPA, which was solid and they also had a Belgian Triple that was equally solid. Will be heading back again to do a tasting flight before I leave for sure.“

“Visited here while in the area for business on a Monday night in early December ’15th, Historic old saloon type bar adjacent to the New Sheridan Hotel and Chophouse Restaurant. Great ambiance with classic furnishing, lots of wood, mirrors and a roaring fireplace. Have about a dozen on tap, a few locals (Telluride and Smugglers) and regionals and a micro or two. Similar situation with the bottle selections. They have a short bar menu, I had the elk chili which was outstanding and hit the spot on a cold night. They also have pool tables in the back, Friendly, talkative barkeeps. Worth a visit if in town.“

“Stopped by there for dinner in early December ’15 on a Monday evening. Unfortunately, they were closed, however, this did not deter me, I found an open back door and stuck my head inside and the owner and head chef were hanging out and invited me in. I had an Espresso Porter and it was very good. Decor appeared to be typical ski lodge, warm and cozy. Did not eat of course, but the chef was testing out some lamb chops using a sous-vide machine and it looked delicious. If I am ever in town again, I will definitely stop by when they are open. I did manage to have a few of their beers on tap at other locations on my visits and they were all pretty decent. .“

“Visited here in late May ’15 while on a business trip on a Monday evening, Casual, laid back atmosphere, western style motif. Friendly, prompt service. Had about a dozen beers on tap - many from the local breweries in town - Telluride and Smuggler Joe’s. Food was excellent, I had the Chili crusted Mahi Mahi salad. Great place for a meal or a few beers.“

“Visited here in mid-May 2015 while on a business trip. Can’t beat the location - at the base of the gondola in Telluride that takes you up to Mountain Village. Have about a dozen local craft selections on tap along with the usual macros - I enjoyed a few from Telluride Brewing. Just had appetizers, but the homemade tortilla chips that went with the chips and salsa were out of this world. Not a beer geek destination, but worth a stop if in Telluride.“

“Just a bar inside with all the brewing equipment, super unique and low key feeling. Service was a bit bummer, but they only had one person working the bar and she was staying super busy. About 15 different beers on tap when we visited. Tasters are the way to go, $5 for four 5 oz. tasters of whatever you want. Overall, super neat place, great beer.“

“How could this place have not been rated before now. I visited in Julyl 2013. It’s a great brewery with an excellent taproom. Wide open feel with many of their own beer on tap. The staff were excellent, attentive, and very beer knowledgeable. Although it is not in downtown Telluride, this is a must visit if you are in Telluride.“

“In a town that couldn’t get any better, I stumbled upon this awesome shop that’s not just great for a small mountain town. I live in Denver and I wish that there were more shops that match the level of quality that Telluride Bottle Works offers. Found Supplication there? Wow. Picked up some Rye Pale Ale from the new Telluride Brewing Co., and overall, a really well thought out selection for about 10-12 cooler doors. Prices weren’t bad either for a high class mountain town.“

“Typical ski town bar with tons of TV’s, that happens to make their own beer. Of the five beers we tried, the Misty Mountain Wet Hop was the best. The others had flavour, but were quite watery and lacked texture. No guest beers. Did not try the food, but it looked good. Huge minus for serving craft beer in frosted glasses!“

“Chic spot for late night dining in a luxury hotel. Modern cuisine with nice craft offerings on tap. 3 selections from the new Telluride Brewing Co were on when I was there. Great food and nice service, but it’s pricey.“

“Excellent selection of liquor and a respectable selection of craft offerings. Shocked to find a case of Lost Abbey Deliverance just hanging out. Fair prices and nice service. Easily the best bottle shop in the area.“

“Comfortable spot with attentive service. Surprisingly large selection of their own beers, but none particularly stood out from my sampling. Basic pub food. Craft beer in Telluride is limited, so it’s a must-visit if you’re in the area.“

“A very nice little liquor store tucked away from main street. The store was very nice and upkept, did not browse too much but the wine and liquor selections looked good. The beer selection was definately not large and had very little of imports but the selection of American craftbrews was very solid, most stuff was sufficiently fresh and they were in on the newer beers recently released, there were a few bottles of old beer but nothing difficult to avoid. The emloyee working the counter was friendly and seemed knowledegeable about the beers they had. Seemed like a good place.“

“Pretty sure its the only place in town to find some craft brew. The signs above the beer fridge read, "Bombers, Microbrew, Microbrew, Microbrew, Domestic, and Cheap Crap. Classic. Definately holds its value in beer, Lots of Colorado beer especially local, Victory, Dogfish head.“

“Typical brewpub atmosphere: sports on TV, family crowd, wood panels, nothing fancy, nothing special, nothing horrible, just very neutral and been-there-done-that. Beer quality was so-so. Ignored by the server for too long, service was questionable. 10-12 taps in total, but most of it pretty typical US brewpub fare.“

“Tucked away nicely between the surrounding mountains, this place has "location" hands down. Inside is a little grubby and could use a good cleaning. The food is just okay. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Their beer selection is nicely varied and of the ones I’ve tried, quite good. This is obviously the best place to dump some unique tap offerings after a full day of skiing.“

“A nice place if in town. Good selection of Colorado (New Belgium including Folly Pack, Left Hand, Ska, Dale’s) and a surprising amount of Dogfish.“

“I’ll go back if I’m in Telluride. Great-looking building - glass, masonry and wood in that modern mountain style. Writing on the walls - a real watering hole. Beers are true to style and ambitiously selected. They could use a cask.“

“Sep 06: Let me start by saying I LOVE TELLURIDE. It is one of the most naturally beautiful spots in the US and if I could afford it I’d live there year-round. But I can’t. This was my first time to Smuggler’s (It wasn’t here last time). Since it was a festival weekend, it was packed, nearly around the clock. We ate and drank here twice during the weekend. The food both times was above the bar for brewpub food; as for the beer, I agree with the previous rater ... for the most part, they were below average, but there were a couple diamonds in the rough ... the SkyHop and the Imperial SkyHop being by far their best offerings. (I never did get to try their espresso porter ... damnit!). They have cool ski-lift chairs on their moderately sized patio dining area. The dining room otherwise is pretty small (how does this place fit the crowds during ski season?). Anyway, there aren’t that many places to get really good beers in Telluride, so if you are fortunate enough to find yourself in this awesome valley some day, Smuggler’s is atop your destination list for beer lovers in Telluride.“

“Walked in wearing a beer shirt (pretty much all I own are beer t-shirts) and I was greeted with a smile and "You gotta buy one of our shirts before you leave." The place was smaller than I expected, but it was relaxed. The bartender was very friendly, cool, and decently knowledgeable about beer. I was surprised to find they had 14 beers on tap. Half were average, but half were actually pretty good. A couple stood out above the rest (especially the 11.2% Imperial San Juan Skyhop on tap). The food we ordered was pretty good ... but after climbing up to 14,000 feet, anything tastes tremendous compared to a Power bar. Not to discredit their cooking at all, but I might’ve been biased. At any rate, the food was good, the beer was good, and the atmosphere and service were very accomodating. Oh, and yes, I bought a shirt. If you find yourself in Telluride and you don’t stop here, there’s something wrong with you.“
