74 /100 John O'Gaunt (Innformal) (Bar) 21 BRIDGE STREET One of the many attractive old buildings in the centre of Hungerford. Relatively small, there are a number of small connected rooms. As you walk in the bar is face you on the left with a free leather sofas and tables for drinkers. I nearly had a heart attack because after an hour's drive none of the sick cask beers were from Innfornal but then I spotted the keg offering. I'd be happy with a pub like this in a small town - casks a mixture of modern brewers like Elusive and more traditional offerings but would have been a few ticks if I wasn't driving. Macro offerings seemed to be limited to Guinness and a lager or two. However there were also a couple of Belgian and craft beers on keg as well. Staff friendly and helpful. At 12:00 on a Friday it was empty, a family arrived as I was leaving, but we are in Covid times. |
