“Interesting place. A cut above the general warehouse feel despite it being on an industrial estate. They've made a good effort with the atmosphere. A good number of tables and mellow music on my visit. They're having an open mic night later although I don't think I'll partake. The beer is interesting if not amazing: Five keg taps with a mix of styles such as a dark lager and a red. Quite a few of the beer veer toward the low ABV range. A few cans as well. The price is a bit steep for the area - £3.50 for a half of low ABV beer. Compare that with other MK outfits, say, Blackened Sun and it's damn near double. Still, would not be out of place in most of the UK so I cannot complain, I’ve just been spoiled in MK. Not a must visit but is decent.“

“Visited 17/11/2021. Oddly located and curiously named, but really good place. It’s hard to find. The Google maps route takes you into an upper level concourse reminiscent of a walkway from porridge and you find yourself walking by dimly lit flats, gatherings of hooded youths, and weed smokers and gives no suggestion there’s a biergarten anywhere close by and eventually you find yourself back out on the street. Undeterred I returned from the other direction and headed down a level and saw in the murky distance a few tables and chairs on the concrete pathway which gave enough encouragement to venture further and sure enough there it was. And what a great find. 4 quality beers on tap, shelves of local ales, and maybe 6 fridges full of craft. Had a couple of tap beers and came away with a box of 11 local beers. Service was good. The clientele didn’t resemble the locals I’d seen on the stairways and landing, though a few were very opinionated in their views on life and clearly comfortable with the homely environment the place encourages.“

“Visited 17/11/2021. Situated on a small industrial area about 14 minutes walk from Wolverton train station (less in daylight apparently if you walk alongside the canal) or less than £7 by cab from central MK. The brewery is at number 23, the tap (which opened Jan 2021) is opposite at number 17. Spent a couple of hours here. Really enjoyable. Cosy and warm. Quiet on this Wednesday evening - a few locals came and went in the time I was there - so got time to chat to the owner quite a bit. Really nice chap. Had 5 of his beers available on tap plus a small number of local bottles and ciders. Beers were pretty decent. Food available is a hand made sourdough margherita pizza which was decent. Well worth visiting.“

“The Craufurd Arms looks promising on the outside, with the Charrington lettering above the entrance. It’s a music pub, and one where people (punters? staff?) have drawn chalk markings of pentagrams and upside down crosses. Puh-leese... I graduated from that ’Hail Satan’ phase when I was 15. Anyway, it isn’t a bad place, and the adjoining music venue has some interesting gigs (John Otway was playing the night I was there). Three casks, including Oakham Citra. No keg of note but you have your bog standard crafty bottles (BrewDog core range, Vedett, Flying Dog etc). Barman looked surprised when I asked for a glass with my bottle, and he had to hunt around for one. The drunk guy next to me said that my beer (an FD Easy IPA) was ’cloudy’ and not quite right, then muttered something about Americans and got back to his pint. Even so, this is probably your best bet should you find yourself in Wolverton and the Biergarten is shut.“

“A German-tinged micropub with a difference, and in a beer-light area of a beer-starved town. Bloody hard to find but worth it when you do. The Biergarten keeps modest hours but it is certainly worth popping by. Four taps: two keg beers, one cask and one cider. Stone Ruination 2.0 was on draught today, and I couldn’t turn that down. They have an interesting mish-mash of bottles, craft and more traditional. Available to drink in although only a few are refrigerated; notably, there isn’t an extra drink-in charge. Board games and basic snacks. Interesting events such as ’Bierclub’ tastings. A shot in the arm to the MK beer scene. No WiFi.“

“Wolverton pub with well-kept beer but a deplorably small selection, mostly confined to Charles Wells. Refurbished without being ruined, has a comfortable old-fashioned feel to it, but can get a bit flavourful in the evenings. The Courage Best here was excellent. Used to be a bit of a beer-free area, but now with the Biergarten nearby there’s not so much of a reason to go anywhere else in Wolverton.“
