68 /100 WRENBURY ROAD
“Large, food orientated village pub – part of the small Pubs Ltd chain. Marbury is between Wrenbury and Whitchurch. Coming from the Whitchurch direction the huge car-park is visible long before the actual pub ! Between the car-park and pub there is a a pavede beer garden. The pub itself is a bit of a rabbit warren. The bar is on the right if you come from the car-park, and there are various sizes of labels scattered around the place. The original (recently restored) building is a bit dark but there is a new conservatory which is much brighter. Inside the walls have literally all the available space covered with historical prints / pictures. In terms of beer there are five hand pumps. Beers served are mainly fairly local, on my latest visit they included beers from Beartown, Peerless and Stonehouse. A recent addition this the beer JPA brewed specially for the Pubs Ltd group by Big Hand. The usual macro suspects are there as well. Prices are on the high side, but not ridiculous. However, the main purpose of the pub is for dining. They have a daily menu, though how much it changes is open to doubt. Food quality is absolutely amazing – but so are the prices ! Sunday roast is £24, and even the smallest bar nibbles cost £5.50. If you have cash to splash, this is a decent place. And a tick almost guaranteed… “
