“Beautiful old pub in a hamlet in rural Roseland, close to the King Harry ferry. There is a seating area to the front, ideal on a sunny afternoon, once inside this presents itself as a food orientated pub. Dog friendly, slate floors wooden beams and benches, quite dark. Just 2 easily available beers on the bar unfortunately. It's been many years since this place brewed its own beers.“

“A lovely country pub but disappointing in terms of beer. Chris has stolen my thunder somewhat here because he’s said just about everything I was going to say (see his review, below). I had high hopes for the Roseland Inn, where we’d planned to dine on a sunny Sunday evening. We went there via the King Harry Ferry, which made me very happy indeed, and when we arrived at the Roseland Inn it looked delightful. It’s on a country lane and is a traditional long, low whitewashed building with rose trellises around the door (no roses, as it was March). It boasts its own brewery in a shed next door and a farm shop at the end of the building. There are two cosy rooms with low ceilings and a tiny snug. The bar looks as if it has sunk into the floor. But - and this is a big but - we’d gone there mainly for the Roseland beers. Unfortunately we were told that the brewer hadn’t made anything for a while. I wonder if it’s seasonal, as the farm shop was closed until April. However, as Chris mentioned, we subsequently saw in the local CAMRA magazine that the inn is up for sale. So all in all it was a rather disappointing outing, fortunately made up for to some extent by the short but enjoyable ferry ride and the pleasant Roseland peninsula scenery. “On the face of it, this place has a lot going for it. It’s a delightful pub in a lovely location. And it’s a brewpub. Unfortunately there was no sign of any of their own beers on offer, just three commonplace offerings. On asking the barman about their own beers we we’re told that the brewer/owner "hadn’t got round to brewing anything for a while". And I later noticed in the local CAMRA magazine an advert offering the pub for sale so I guess the future of brewing at the pub must be in doubt. Without it’s own beers, there’s not really anything to distinguish this place from hundreds of other pleasant country pubs in Cornwall offering Sharps & Skinners beers. By all means pop in if you are passing but I wouldn’t bother otherwise without making advance enquiries about the availability of their own beers.“
