46 /100 COGGESHALL ROAD
“Large and quite pleasant independent garden centre a little way west of Colchester, which hosts a medium-sized farm shop. The farm shop tries its best to stock local produce, but you do get the impression that Essex has less local food producers than many counties (although there is also a chocolate maker on site). On the beer front they have about 10 from Maldon (Farmers Ales) brewery and their "craft" brand Blackwater - it looked like these were also sold in the popular café here. It's very much not a beer destination in its own right, but as it's the sort of place you might get forced to visit with your family (it offers a lot of kids' activities and a miniature railway), it's nice to know that it does stock local beer and you might get a new rate.“
