64 /100 Eva Hart (JDW) (Bar) 1128 HIGH ROAD On the main A118 street connecting Ilford with Romford, this Wetherspoon pub is in the heart of the small commercial centre of Chadwell Heath. It’s a corner building on the road that leads to the nearby British Rail station and the garden area is also along this stretch although you can also sit out front as well. Inside it is traditional in style with carpets and soft furnished wooden furniture and plenty of wood paneling, but gets more atmospheric at its rear where a medieval quality exists. The upper level which is mainly for diners looks down onto the main area of the pub as a three-sided balcony, but its just as nice being below it as it is above as the high ceiling skylight provides a nice light here in the daytime. Ales are on two rows of pumps and regularly rotate. There is a small car park at the rear. |
