ARCHES 88/89, WOOD LANE ARCHES, WOOD LANE
“Visited on 8 May 2021. All outdoor seating, due to the pandemic. Taking up two arches (the only business currently there) in a new development very near the north end of Westfield shopping centre and next to BBC Television Centre. One side seems to be more for the food and the other the beer. Really good menu at decent prices. I had loaded fries and a brisket sandwich. 16 taps of beer, mostly local stuff (Mondo, London Beer Factory, Goodness, and a LOT of Siren). They're definitely buying beer at a good price point, but the prices for the area and a restaurant are pretty good. Half a Siren 10% stout was £4. While the price on the taps is good, they also do 16 cans and bottles, and these are wildly overpriced. A 440ml can of 5.7% Siren pale was 20p more than a pint of the Siren 10% stout (£8.50 a can). The can and bottle stuff is much the same as the draught too. However, that aside, the food was great, the draught was solid and a good price, and the service was absolutely tip-top. Really friendly and accommodating, considering we didn't have a booking. Our server gave us great recommendations on the menu and gave us samples of all their many homemade sauces. Definitely recommended, if you're in the area.“
