“I used to work here (2007-2010) and I loved this place. 60 beers on tap, and roughly 150+ bottled. Nothing super rare, but a great place to learn about the basics about beer. Once you drink 100 beers they engrave your name on a glass and hang it in the bar for your use (I’m #6). The original owner recently retired to South Carolina and sold Jax to a few people who micro manage a bit too much from what I hear. They swapped out a few items on the menu that didn’t sell very well, and added a few of their own items. Great atmosphere still. Originally the restaurant was a Swedish (I think) restaurant that imported all the wood for the place, all hand carved, really adds a nice feel to the place. Everything is very reasonably priced. Domestic pitchers are $5 and I believe the most expensive is Delerium Tremens at $28. Pints range from $2 during happy hour to $8 for higher end craft. One of my favorite jobs I’ve ever had, but I had to put my big boy pants on and go back to school.“

“It’s been a while since I’ve visited their Orlando location but the Lake Mary spot certainly was similar to what I remember that one being like. It’s quite spacious inside with a nice large patio area outside. There are a lot of beer choices so finding something to drink wasn’t hard (I had a Cigar City Jai Alai) but the overall selection/quality wasn’t great. I felt like watching some sports games and there wasn’t a shortage of TVs with games on so I was happy with the vibe. If you’re looking for more of a quiet dark pub atmosphere then this might not be what you’re looking for (although it was not crowded at all). The food was decent; typical bar type food. I can’t say this place is anything special but it’s a pretty cool hang out and I’m sure I’ll be back.“

“Above average tap list with a few crafts, ambiance is nice and spacious and the food is above average. Worth a stop in for a bite and a beer, but nothing special.“

“This place has been a favorite of mine for years. They are consistent across the board and the craft beer selection is the icing on the cake.“

“I’ve been here many times. Some of the staff are on top of service while some couldn’t tell ya the difference between a lager or a porter. Some of the beers are served in pint glasses when they deserve to be in proper glassware. The pickles bring me back.“

“Best store I could find to buy craft beer in the Lake Mary area. As the previous reviewer stated, it had a reasonable to good selection of wine, beer, booze, and cigars. Can make mix sixes or just buy singles. Serves was a good as I needed it(I don’t usually ask for much help buying beer).“

“Cool looking place when you walk in, definitely spacious. Read they had a wide selection of beers to choose from, both tap and bottle. Was kind of disappointed in the selection. Many taps, yet not that much exciting to choose from. A few ciders and a good handful of mass produced beers. Some of the "craft" items were still pretty run of the mill stuff....I expected more from what I had heard/read about. I definitely had a few tasty treats, and throughly enjoyed my Dogfish Head. Overall, though, decent pub fare and a little better than average beer selection made for a good night - but it could’ve been better.“

“Better than average pub fare, pretty good sandwiches and wraps. They have a nice wall of taps and decent bottle list. Servers are friendly, but not knowledgeable about craft beer at all. Don’t think they properly clean their taps when changing kegs, last beer I had there was a Lagunitas and all I got was apricot... bartender basically ignored me when I politely asked what was on that tap prior and told her this isn’t a fruit IPA. I like the Winter Park location better, but this is a good option if you are in the area. Ton of good TVs to watch a game.“

“Clean and spacious store with a great selection and good prices. Good size cooler, and a small rack of random singles, but you can take singles of anything you want, and then get a discount for making your own mix-pack. Decent selection of wine, spirits, and cigars too. They’ve recently added a growler filling station!“

“Great sports bar with an excellent beer selection like st. bernardus abt. 12 on tap. The bartenders are friendly and know their beers. A great place to go drink some quality beers with friends and watch a game.“

“Nice place right off of Lake Emma Dr. in Lake Mary. Plenty of outdoor seating, some of it overlooks a lake. Jax provides heaters on those rare Central Florida evenings that require it, so you can still enjoy outdoor drinking and dining. I’d call Jax a sports bar with a very good beer selection. There are televisions everywhere and they are always turned to sports. Sunday afternoons during football season are very popular as they show every NFL game being played. Jax features 60 taps and over 200 bottled beers. The taps don’t change all that often, but they do turn them over occasionally. The last time I was there they had just added Magic Hat #9. The beer menu has the beers broken down by country and the beers on tap are marked with an asterisk. The bar staff is hit and miss on beer knowledge, so you don’t always receive proper glassware. Some of the bar staff is quite knowledgeable about the various brews they serve, others don’t know a thing. Overall it’s a pleasant place to hang out, watch some sports and enjoy some decent food and good beer.“

“it’s a pretty average place with average food and a long tap list of mostly average beers. they do have a nice patio, and there are usually a few top notch beers on the list, which is what puts them just above avg for me. i know they also have bottles, but i’m not sure of what.“

“I have been going to Jax for over two years now, mostly because it was close to my work and had a impressive size beer tap and bottle selection. There are several long permanent taps as well as plenty of taps that get changed out at regular intervals. The selection varies from mass market American beers to large and small national craft breweries to several beers from over-seas. Overall the tap selection is very large and varied with something for most, but not as many specialty and hard to find beers as Redlight Redlight offers. Jax’s bottle list is also quite extensive, running the gamete of selection just like their taps. The bottle list however, is far from the focus of the place, and is not readily available, I always have to ask for it to be brought from the back. The food is standard pub fare and depending on the chef varies from good to excellent. My biggest issue with the place is how loud it is, there is usually music playing, sometimes a game or four is also turned up as well as the din of people shouting to be heard over it all. There is always sports to watch, and if you are into that sort of thing, Jax offers specials for the big games. Prices on food is pretty standard for the area, with a couple of good bargains, beers range from average price to quite expensive. Tap prices are never marked and can be quite ridiculous, I have had a $17 American Microbrew before, so be sure to ask the server.“
