“They make good beer here. Small selection but there's a geekery at work here that takes it very seriously. Ambience is not fancy, as its part homebrew store, part taproom, part homebrewing space. But they are welcoming, and its a low key hang out spot where everyone talks to everyone, definitely a place I'm going back to.“

“I'm updating my rating because the first time I went in, the store was a mess, disorganized with plenty of old bottles. But since then that is not the case, I might have caught them in the middle of a re-org. They have a really big selection of hazies, imperial stouts, lots of BA stuff, and a bunch of slushy weird fruit sours. If you're into all the current fads, these is the place to find some of it. Helpful and friendly staff always ready to talk about the beer. They do occasional fests and tastings. Good cooked food sold inside the store too. “

“Good: Nice, large industrial space with lots of tables, inside and out. A good selection of beers, and I liked all the beers I tried. Friendly staff. Not so good: Their Wi-Fi wasn't working. I'm not a fan of the chalk labels on their beer flights; They are too hard to read. Good thing I kept a menu to help "translate." A bit high priced. $18 for a flight of four is a bit rich.“

“Part brewery, part brewer supply house. Small "under the radar" spot with a local feel. It was very quiet when I was there so service was good. The beers I tried were all good; Very safe, middle-of-the-road taste profiles. Just straightforward beer. They don't have any carriers for flights, so it's kind of a pain walking around balancing multiple glasses. And it's easy to mix up the beers too. Comfy seating, but not very flight-friendly. They also have a small refrigerator with some random singles for sale. Overall, their prices were slightly higher than average. Worth a stop.“

“Mixed feelings about this one. I like the cozy dark ambiance, I appreciate that nice peruvian restaurant that has started up inside. The people were cool. The beers are a tad mediocre to me though. Still worth a visit.“

“I really like this place - big open seating area with big benches, good view of the brewery but also outside. Big bar. Super friendly bar staff. I think I'd say they're making the best beers in Sanford as well, though another crawl is worth doing.“

“Open place with a big patio. Decent beers they do in flights. Friendly service beer is just ok, with a few duds and a few decent ones. This review is a couple of years old, mind you.“

“We came here on 30.12.2018 as we were flying back from Sanford Airport. The small village Sanford has 5 breweries and so many pubs. Hard to believe they all can survive. This brewpub was quite crowded on a Saturday afternoon, as most of the people were watching football. Ben would have enjoyed watching, but as he was not with us, we decided to leave quickly. All in all a very average place.“

“I like it here. It's in a cool part of Sanford, nice low key vibe, good food, good beers, friendly service. Live music, all around its just about everything you want from a local brewpub. I only wish I lived closer - if I lived in the neighborhood I'd probably be there everyday,“

“Nice place to have a beer and conversation. Great staff and decoration an even you get the chance to get glassware to go. They have open mic and sports tv. Only thing is that is flooded with petlovers of which some have little concern for the rest.“

“Well I finally had a chance to try this place out, stopping in for lunch on a weekday. I like the ambiance and the outdoor dining area out front. Service attentive (place wasn't very busy this time of day). Good beer selection, I had a Kostritzer schwarzbier on draft that was served just right. Spatzle was good. Only complaint is maybe a beer and plate of spatzle shouldn't cost $20.“

“After taking kid to zoo stopped in for late lunch. Authentic decor, friendly staff, live music. Food was excellent German fare. Beer selection had your basic Herman selection while decent choices nothing I would deem as surprising. The store around corner has large German bottle selection as well but couldn’t get any due to child throwing fit. Anyways Sanford is upcoming little town I hope to come back to and this is nice spot for sure.“

“Looks a little sketchy from the outside, but the place is clean and organized, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Not someplace I would go out of my way to get to as far as selection goes, but worth stopping in on the way home if convenient. They seem to rotate through a pretty good variety now, but nothing hard to find. Recently starting offering a mix-your-own six-pack option. Decent wine and liquor selection as well.“

“Great Bistro with lots of Belgian Beer. We had 6 or 7 different beer selections, most on recommendation from server, all were quite good. Had Troubadour, Straffe Hendrik ,Framboise Tripel Karmeliet Vickerus Winter (sic)-probably mispelled that last one. Great place for Belgian beers.“

“Very nice place, must stop if you find yourself in Sanford, but unless you’re looking for a specific German beer or maybe a German beer you’ve never had before, there might not be a huge reason to go out of your way. The selection is almost 100% German (they had an austrian mead and french cider). The selection was nice, they have Aventinus and that is OK in my book. gallon minikegs of Gaffel kolsch and even found a Berliner weisse I’d never heard of. They sell a selection of syrups too but I skipped those. Loads of wurst, cheese, German candies and chocolate, whole suckling pig, wild boar tenderloin, elk rib roast, really quite the selection of meats. Helpful staff, girl really knew her german beer and loved it. Prices a bit high, ranging from about $2 a single bottle for Paulaner to almost $10 a single bottle for the Aventinus. I’ll go back - when I have more money.“

“First of all, the place looks great. From the beautiful wooden bar to the stone facade on the walls to the specific glassware for just about everything they serve, the owners have obviously put some money into the joint. The selection was extremely impressive, with the understanding that everything is a Belgian style (nearly all imported from Belgium itself, with a few American offerings). If you’re looking for a big American IPA, you’re not going to find it here. But with the incredible diversity of Belgian beers, you shouldn’t have a problem finding something you’ll enjoy. The bartender was helpful, asking my experience level before offering recommendations. The food menu consists of artisanal cheeses, meats, fruits and nuts served with bread and artfully presented on wooden boards. The food and drink prices were both reasonable. It may not be the type of place one would expect to find in downtown Sanford, but it’s a gem.“

“This place is fan-freaking-tastic. First off, let’s just get this out of the way - the best thing about Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe is the food. That isn’t a bad thing. If one has decided to die in a way that involves eating too much Schnitzel, this is the place you should do it (don’t do that, though - it would bum out the other patrons). There is a HEAVY emphasis on German beer here, of course, but those taps run deep. Kostritzer, that lovely dark horse light black beer, has been on tap every time I’ve been there. They have all the usual German Pils, Hefe, Oktoberfests, and... well, you know the ones I’m talking about. No joke, it is Oktoberfest in this joint every day. Go, you must go. Accordion music and buxom beer maids! Go eat, drink, and be merry, people!“

“Great place with amazing food!!! I hadn’t been able to eat at a German restaurant in a really long time and this fit the bill. Desserts were also amazing. I came away just about too full to walk. We just walked in. The place was hopping for a small town on Sunday night, yet we got right in to a table without much ado. Getting our food could have been a little quicker, but like I said, the place was hopping. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.“

“A decent little pace with a nice beer selection at good prices. Mostly six-packs for craft beer, and they keep some in the cooler at the back. Not the place to find something new or unique, but perfect for picking up some good beer on the way home. Selection changes often, and seems get even better each time I stop in.“

“Best German place in Central Florida hands down. Great atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices on the food. They have pretty much the German beer selection you would expect, the only thing keeping my rating down is the prices of their beer. I work in Sanford and would love to stop in for a liter after work now and then but it’s a tad too high. Just add a decent happy hour and it would be perfect!“

“I have driven past this place for several years going to my office in Sanford, what a find. Standard staple craft beer selection, everything warm. Saw several boxes of Cigar City beers unopened, Stone, Great Divide, Hebrew, Avery, Left Hand, Weyerbacher, Bells, yada, yada... I understand Randy is the man, alas he wasn’t in the two times I’ve been by, but it made my week that I have a place to get great beer on the way home.“
