“The Rising Sun is towards the top of a rising road in Nether Green, a long walk away from the city centre, but a pleasant one if the weather is nice (and there's plenty of other pubs to visit along the way and back). Situated next to a petrol station in its own building, the premises are large with an open plan area around its central to the building bar, which has about 12 Abbeydale brews in both keg and cask and a few guests too from the local area. There's a dining room to the right of this room and there's outdoor space too.“

“Abbeydale pub with the main selling point being the brewers quality tap range, though there are a few guests too. The food was better than expected though waiting times can rise when busy. The building itself has a smart interior mixed with some traditional paneling and some modern build, a couple of out door benches. Sometimes there is a cat about.“

“Visited on 10th June 2017. Large multi roomed pub a 20 mins ride from City Centre on 83a bus. Lovely smart looking pub with really smart decor. Split into drinking and dining. What strikes you as you walk in is the huge array of cask beers to choose from. Abbeydale supply 6 plus local guests and there’s also 4 keg beers. Beer quality is excellent, staff friendly and prices good. Really worth the ride out of town. A superb pub.“
