Black brown in color,creamy head with some lace, rich roasted malts, semi sweet, smooth finish.

I actually liked this better than the traditional Guiness Extra Stout. I don’t really drink Guiness that much anymore, as I’ve been trying different domestic microbrews lately, but the more I drink Guiness the more I realize that it is actually a decent beer. This stout seems sweeter and smoother than Extra Stout. Definitely more of a chocolate/nutty taste. I was expecting it to be sharper and thicker, but it tastes and goes down smooth. It reminds me a bit of another stout I like a lot by Lost Coast called 8-ball Stout, or maybe a mild chocolate stout. Was looking around for a ABV% but can’t find one, guessing it’s around 5.5-6%. I would buy it again as it is a "limited edition". It is a good all around dark beer.

I’m not a huge fan of the original, and I like that one better in the nitro can or on tap, so this is already a venture for me...but i can’t ignore the history and had to jump on the chance to try it. While not mind blowing, i definitely like it better than the regular stuff. No slight urine aftertaste. Still a little thin for my taste, but that was totally expected. pours dark brown...nearly black with a thin off white head. flavor and aroma is roasted malts...not incredibly complex, but pleasant. mouthfeel is a tad too carbonated and thinner than i like, but overall, it’s like a session stout. nice dry roasted finish. worthy of a 250 year anniversary? ...no, but an enjoyable enough brew."

The body has a very dark brown/black color and is nearly opaque. A small tight foamy head about one finger thick sets on top. It is light tan in color and hangs on well making nice rings of lace on the glass each time I sip. There are hints of smoky wood with loads dark roasted grain and some dried leafy/mineral like hops. The base has nice roasted malt flavors with very mild sweetness and creamy over roasted coffee notes. Hop flavor is mild but adds some leafy spice and light mineral notes. The light sweetness dries out into the finish and becomes more roasted and bitter but not overly so. It has a light to medium body, moderate carbonation and an easy drinking texture.

Dark. Got to love it. Even after testing lots off beers its still one og the best :)..

Wild Colonial. Draught. Eh..why do they bother. I could not tell this from the regular in a blind fold test.

On tap some 2 years ago. It pours black with a rocky, off-white head Smells of toast, caramel, and a little yeast Flavor is some chocolate, with a little sweetness. thin feel, lightly carbonated, with bittersweet finish.

had this a couple of years back, a pub near my house had it on tap for a couple of months- i think i drank all of it.

Bottle - no idea where it came from. Pours clear brown with a large beige creamy head that laces nicely. Aroma is very malty - roasted with molasses. Flavor is medium sweet, roasted malt, a bit of chocolate, raisin, some citric notes. Finish is very lightly bitter, lemon rind, dry. Body is light and watery. Seems more like brown ale than a stout to me.
