750ml bottle. Hazy reddish-brown, small off-white head. Arome is sweet, barley, bread, raisins, whipped cream. Taste of barley, bread crust, some alcohol, vanilla, roast. Medium to full bodied, average carbo. Nice tasty barleywine, not worth the price, but still nice.

(Yo-Ho Hare no Hi Sennin 2013) Bottle at home, 750ml. Closed with a crown cap but it also has a swing top to close it again. Served into a snifter, ABV 9.5% Deep red colour on the body, slightly hazy, with a small and thin beige head on top, with average retention. Aroma of caramel, malts, sugars, peach and apricot, dark fruits. Taste follows, caramel, peach, apricot, cunning alcohol, sugars, light dark fruits, hints of hops, malts. Medium thick body, good carbonation. Quite good, it doesn’t worth that high price though.

anstei (3818) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 10, 2016
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2016 Bottle, courtesy of Toni Fluekiger, many thanks! Pours cloudy brown with a medium head. Aroma is strong barley, slightly citric (peel), sweet and boozy. Heavy, sweet and boozy. Stocky, low carbonation. Palate is long and sweet, continuing the nice flavours. Warming, strong, but really well drinkable through a great balance.

Bottleshare at Steampunk. Brown like melted brown sugar with white head. Sugar in aroma, honey, syrup. Caramel syrup. Very sweet, feels like someone poured syrup into the beer. Full body.

Senka (1138) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 14, 2015
750cl bottle. Sharp beer. Dry, malty, hoppy - as a beer should be. But everything that it is can be found in a beers that are 20 times more affordable. Local barley wine is as good as this one.

Marduk (21939) - Reval, ESTONIA - OCT 1, 2015
750ml bottle. Dark amber color. Small size head, stays. Sweet, caramel, flowers, perfume in aroma. Malty, sweet, plastic bag, dry hops, flourish in taste. Dry mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. Rose pepper in aftertaste. Dull and dead.

750ml bottle (300e of overpriced beer tasting) - (Koht, Tallinn) - thanks all!
Super white pepper aroma, but there’s lots of sweet starchy mash too. Some dry woody aspects, but totally dominated by the starch. Booze everywhere. Raw. Yo-ho brewing well outside their comfort zone here.

mjs (11413) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 26, 2015
(Bottle, swing top and crown cap, 0.75, at Koht, 20150926) The beer poured brown and rather clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sweetness and booze. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, vanilla, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet. A very sweet brew with too much booze as well.

suurjuust (4492) - ESTONIA - SEP 26, 2015
Hazy amber beer, soapy white head. Nose is caramel and vanilla, oaky notes. Flavor is starchy notes, malt, caramel, sweetness, sharp booze and hops. Lingering bitterness and malt. This is way too simplistic for the price.
