ctipping (4084) - Florida, USA - DEC 24, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2020 13 oz. can. Black body. Smells of brown malts, vanilla, and lots of chocolate. Tastes of vanilla up front. Some brown malts with a little bread. Chocolate rounds it out. Lingering vanilla and bitterness. Medium body. Not as good as the base Base Weight. The adjuncts aren't really helping here.

phaleslu (16549) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 14, 2018
12 oz. can from the brewery. Pours a deep, dark, nearly opaque coffee brown with a finger of soft tan head that settles into a thick ring and thinner lasting film while lacing the glass well. Notes of roasted and toasted malts, marshmallow, cocoa, vanilla, coffee, earth, tobacco, and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a smooth, sweet, lightly roasty and toasty mouthfeel. The best of the Base Weight bunch so far.

Draft to stemmed glass at SPC. Looks good; a fairly opaque very dark cola with foamy beige head. Smells good too; decadent with loads of vanilla and cocoa. Tastes like it smells, but less robust. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with some mild but pleasant bitterness. Tasty.
