Decent aroma of malt, honey and mild hops. Good flavor of mild hops, malt and honey. Pours a clear golden color with almost no head. The body is light with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. It’s not a great lager, but it’s decent and refreshing.

Tacos Tapas Rubia
On tap at the restaurant. The color is a hazy honey with a beige head. The aroma is of citrus and just a bit of hops. The taste also of hops but not much and lemony citrus flavor with an added sweetness of honey. Nice but room for improvement.

Tacos Tapas Perra Loca
On tap at the brewery. Clear amber/golden with a medium foamy white head. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, a touch of maple syrup, herbal hops and some limited fruity notes. Flavor is similar with caramel, honey, sweet malt, fruity notes and herbal hops. Amazingly drinkable for a 9%abv. Alcohol is very well hidden. Not so much complexity, but well made.

Tacos Tapas Perra Loca
My Bottom Line:
Strawberry esters are prominent in this creamy Strong Lager, adding mild complexity to the hefty sweet and toasted malts, before alcohol warmth cleans up the back end.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy amber-tinged blond.
-The mouthfeel on this one was as soft and round as their other two beers’.
-This is quite drinkable for a 9% brew (even though the alcohol is tasted).
-Herbal hops appear in the last half.
-All of their brews are malt-heavy, yet amazingly drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub.

Tacos Tapas Rubia
My Bottom Line:
This pillowy and very malty Blond Lager’s honeyed cereals dominate its furtive herbal hops for a simple yet very drinkable pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy veil of foam tops the hazy blonde.
-This is as clean as their other two brews.
-The mouthfeel could have been crisper, but sweet malt lovers will still appreciate this.
-The mouthfeel is as round and soft as their other two beers.

Tacos Tapas Morena
My Bottom Line:
This creamy and chocolatey Brown Ale expands its flavor profile into earthy and nutty angles, providing a sweet but friendly pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam coats the dark brown.
-This is as drinkable as their other two beers.
-Note that the brewer here is not aiming for any specific style; in this case, the beer is not supposed to be an exact replica of an English Brown Ale.
-Fruity esters suffuse the flavor profile.
-Cascade hops are supposedly used in this one, but I must say they are pretty shy throughout, mostly peeking through the finish.

On tap at the brewpub.
