3 Charlemagner Frankischer Apfel Small bottle from Kulmbach museum. Appearance and color of champagne. Aroma of chardonnay with after-smell of apples and caramel. High carbonation. Prickles. Champagne-like mouthfeel. Flavors = caramelized sugar, delicate perfume, soursop, sopa. Not acidic enough but has some green olive juice and pickles. Strange and gets eggier by the sip. 2.3 Charlemagner Frankischer Apfel Bottle, from the Kulmbacher Brauereimuseum. Pale green-yellow colour with light sparkle. More of a vinous aroma with light apple and acetone. Fairly light body - very highly attenuated. Light apple character and some alcohol late. Dry, but not with very much character. Disappointing. Saturday, October 31, 2009 | |
