MicroGrog	3.9 Maui / Smog City Star Maps Kolsch 07/28/19 Had this a couple times on tap at the Maui facility, but I always ended up gravitating towards something else shiny. This rate is from a can I grabbed at Island Gourmet Market, which is a subsidiary of the ABC chain. Pint glass at home. Hazy golden yellow brew. Big, lathery head. Floral, yeasty, with a very mild, unidentifiable fruit. Yeasty, fruity like apple, salt. Minerally, toasty, mellow yet lingering herbal bitterness. Frothy, textures & easy. Subtle. Flavour is rough and chaotic, with mango, hopburn, and some coconut. If this weren’t a hazy, it might work; but the hopburn destroys whatever possible goodness might come from the adjuncts. Not good. Clean and clean golden pour, wispy white head. Refreshing but no real oomph or flavors. Mini citrus nose and taste, light and, well just light really! Aroma has cacao, toasted coconut, and hints of caramel and coffee. Flavors of the same sortie, plus some blackberry and a bit of char. Near-medium bodied with medium carbonation and an excellent, easy drinking balance. Solid old school Porter underneath just a touch of coconut puts this one in the upper ranks. Sunday, July 2, 2023

Maui is a long way from Brisbane so I don’t see this breweries beer here very often but when I do I snap them up. You would imagine with a name like Sunshine Girl you would be drinking this beer while sitting on a golden sandy beach while watching the waves gently lapping the shore but let me tell you it is just as easy to drink this beer while sitting outside on a dark moonless cold winters night. Probably the best way to describe this beer is easy drinking. You don’t have to work too hard to enjoy it and it is not so complex that you have to work to get the flavour. Perfect for weekend picnics, beach days and sitting by the pool. Also perfect for cold winter nights. Thursday, June 29, 2023
BenDover	2 Maui Coconut Hiwa Porter Pours a very dark brown, almost black, but a faint hint of red if held up to a light. No foam whatsoever. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt, but rather subdued.
