3.3 Hams Brewhouse Blasphemy Tap. Pours pale with some hoppy aroma. Pretty much and IPA with a lagers fermentation. Nice citrusy and hoppy for anyone out there that is a hop head. Sunday, February 21, 2010

3.5 Hams Brewhouse Hibernation Winter Ale Sampled at Pre-Sex. Dusky deep amber, shading to brown. Soft fluffy head and moderate carbonation. The nose gives off not just the requisite spices one expects in a winter brew, but also some spicy hops, as if the base weren’t so much an amber or a brown as an ASA. Seems to work in terms of the caramel malts and the spices, gives the beer some fine balance even if the flavors aren’t all that memorable. Friday, February 19, 2010

3.1 Hams Brewhouse Blasphemy Sampled at Pre-Sex. I guess I didn’t know what the "IPL" stood for but I reckon this explains how underwhelmed I felt. Pale and cloudy, almost wit-like to the eye. Soft nose, mostly grassy hops with a hint of grain. Prickly mouthfeel from lively carbonation, a little bit gritty on the palate. Flavor is fairly one-dimensional but it’s a damn fine lawnmower beer for sure. Thursday, February 18, 2010

Lots of citrus, grapefruit, and a touch of pine. Really enjoyable, actually. Sampled at Brewgrass 2009. Monday, September 21, 2009

3 Hams Brewhouse Wenceslas Imperial Pilsner Had this around new years of 2008 at the brewhouse in a tulip glass. The waiter seemed like he had to quiz me to make sure I could handle this beer. The beer it self was a fairly good offering. It was quite light for a strong alcohol beer. Taste was sweet. Not bad. Sunday, June 7, 2009

3.1 Hams Brewhouse Charlie's India Brown Ale Growler. Pours brown with nice white head. Not bad here, but I get much more India than I do brown. This brewer tends to over hop most of its offereings, and this is no exception. Not bad by any means however. Monday, April 27, 2009

4 Hams Brewhouse Wenceslas Imperial Pilsner Sampled at Brewgrass 2008. Golden pour with plenty of head. Lightly sweet grain aroma that smells like I’m mashing or just finish the boil on my homebrew. You would never guess this was a pils of any kind. Lightly sweet with grain and grass that, to me, was dangerously drinkable. Full bodied and smooth. Tuesday, September 23, 2008

3.4 Hams Brewhouse Wenceslas Imperial Pilsner on tap at Brewgrass, named Wenceslas Imperial Pilsner. Pours hazy yellow with a giant white head. The nose is papery and woody with mild skunky and strong vanilla. I get clean vanilla/grain/bread sweetness on the palate with a slightly dry finish. Not a whole lot of hop definition on this one. It’s clean and decent. Pretty sessionable other than its hidden alcoholic strength. Saturday, September 20, 2008

4 Hams Brewhouse Double Peg Imperial IPA on tap at Brewgrass. Ah, here we go: cloudy orange with a thick white head. This stuff smells awesome. It’s dank and strong with loads of herbs, pineapple, ammonia, grapefruit. It is very hoppy and very defined. This is semi sweet in the way of flavor with lots of lemon along with hints of pine, ganja, and herbal bitterness. This is a very stanky, drity-nasty IIPA. Great stuff. 2.9 Hams Brewhouse SunFest Lager The beer boured a clear yellow with a fair amount of frothy white head. It did not have much of an aroma--very faint bready and citrusy notes. It was very drinkable and was not overly carbonated. Initially, I really enjoyed the taste of the malts and the delicate hints of citrus. I could almost taste the sun quality. But after a while I lost my ability to pick up anything other than the bready taste in the beer, which set off my carb alarm. It was just too much. Had I not been eating french fried, this might not have been an issue, but I don’t know. Thursday, March 13, 2008

3.8 Hams Brewhouse Peg Leg Pale Ale The first time I drank this beer it was about six months ago, and it tasted like it had a dirty old peg leg in it. What I really mean to say is that I did not enjoy it at that time. Tonight; however, it was quite enjoyable. I think the brewer must have eliminated whatever hop it was that was giving it that bitter flavor in favor of something with a much grassier, citrusy flavor. It was very refreshing. The color was still the same golden amber. The head was a bit yellowish and the aroma was of grapefruit and grass. The smell reminded me of my childhood in Florida gathering grapefruits from the yard on a Sunday morning. I had this beer with a Ham’s chicken burger (all organic by the way) and the fresh flavors cut through the greasier flavors quite nicely. Thursday, March 13, 2008
