2.7 Birrificio di Pettenasco - Natalina (bottle) <!-- i -->2005 vintage, courtesy of fiulijn<!-- /i --> - pours a cloudy reddish-brown colour with no foam remaining; strong aroma of overmatured red fruits, some licorice and light notes of alcohol; medium to full malt body; initial sweetness but soon dominated by some sourness; the finish shows notes of apple and some residual sugars Monday, June 12, 2006

3.1 Birrificio di Pettenasco - B-Pils slightly hazy golden colour and with a little white head; herbal aroma with notes of butter and a touch of sourness; a good malt body, some sweetness before a light but disturbing sourness comes and dominates the herbal finish - too bad I’ve wait for so long before I pick up this bottle from fiulijn (this bottle is 2 months past the bb date which is too much in this case) Monday, June 12, 2006

2.8 Birrificio di Pettenasco - Natalina (bottle) Dark amber color, thin head. Some malt aroma and taste, caramel, vegetables, a bit astringent at the end and with a light fermentation problem: the bottling process was not perfect… Saturday, December 24, 2005

2.9 Birrificio di Pettenasco - 229 Draught at the brewpub Hazy light amber color. Sour aroma, possibly some infection. The taste is quite balanced, with some malt, a lot of caramel and some hop; there is a very light sourness but the evidence of infection is less than in the aroma. The keg was a bit old. 3.7 Birrificio di Pettenasco - Natalina Draught at the brewpub Amber color. Strong toffee and caramel aroma. Sweet taste, full malty, with sweet caramel, toffee. The final has a strong caramel and burnt sugar character. Unusual in Italy and a good Christmas beer. Even without a hop profile is quite enjoyable. Friday, December 23, 2005

3 Birrificio di Pettenasco - Marisol Draught at the brewpub, 2005-12-22, 6-4-6-3-11=30 Hazy amber color. I think it’s less interesting that it used to be, and the malt taste is poorer. Still a too long hop infusion. Draught at the brewpub, 2004-05-19, 6-4-7-3-13=33 Amber color. Light malty aroma. Low carbonation (good point), good malt, residual sweetness; not complex, but enjoyable. Not convincing at the end: too long hop infusion… Tuesday, May 25, 2004

3.5 Birrificio di Pettenasco - B-Pils Bottle, 2005-12-23, 6-4-7-4-14=35 The bottled version is more malty, and with less Saaz character, but also the bitterness is more correct. Draught at the brewpub, 2005-12-22, 7-4-7-3-14=35 Hazy blond color; nice lace. Similar comment, and similar Saaz hopping, but two point less because the bitterness is too high (too long infusion) and not very elegant. Draught at the brewpub, 2004-05-19, 7-4-7-4-15=37 Pale blond color; creamy head. Very nice hoppy aroma, herbal. Correct maltiness, with a very good hopping, aromatic! Very nice Saaz character, a true Pilsner. Strong ending bitterness. Tuesday, May 25, 2004

3.1 Birrificio di Pettenasco - Pettenaghen Muddy blond color; creamy head. Nice spicy aroma, with lemon notes (also because of a lemon slice slipped in the glass). Quite smoot, not too cold (!), strong spices, banana; unfortunately also a bit metallic and too bitter. It’s a correct one. Tuesday, May 25, 2004
