West Brothers Stout
On tap @ Bier Steinm - Another one that I am amazed has held up so well. Found this keg in the bottom of Eugene City, formely West Brothers. Starting to get kind of weak, but still tastes great! Lots of rich chocolate, black tea, and creamy coffee. Extremely well balanced for the style.

West Brothers Honey Orange Wheat
Well the most accurate discription of this brew was when someone said, "this tastes like a mimosa", they were correct. This brew pours a light yellow/orange with a normal wheat haze to it. Aroma is very tropicana. Taste is very thin and watery with a very light yeast taste, light on the wheat. The only major flavor in this brew was a big dose of orange juice.

West Brothers Imperial Pilsner
2 year old pils at the Rogue Eugene City Brewery, The beer was definently unique for its style, very strong malty nose with a definent high alcohol presence, pours a reddish dark golden color. The taste is extremely sweet and syrupy with some caramel and a somewhat overwhelming raison taste. Even some possible plum essence like the imperial stout. I could hardly finish this glass is was good but only if you have to drink maybe 5 ounces. It had virtually no hop presence at all to blance the beer and no carbonation or head to tantilize my taste buds, just sweetness and alcohol. Try toning it down a little and adding some creativity to this beer and it could be great.

West Brothers Glen Looked It Imperial Stout
Pours black and thick with a thin head, a thick kinda fruity aroma, with essence of chocolate roasted malts and even a plum, same is observed in the taste (gag!), very sweet and rich, 2 years old and very flat, a lot of shitty malt to cover up the alcohol, pretty good beer.

West Brothers Imperial Pilsner
On tap Rogue Eugene Citry Brewery: Light mahogney color. Zero head. Malty , some light toast and lots of caramel in the aroma. Very sweet and malty, plenty of caramel with a light dry toastiness balancing things out. Very low carbonation. Does not resemble a pilsner in any way shape or form.

West Brothers Glen Looked It Imperial Stout
Pours thick black with a faint light tan head. This was a really powerful stout with a ton of dark roasty coffee in the aroma and taste. Very strong but still well balanced with a kalua/scotch/alcohol bite in the taste, very sweet with a kick of alcohol in the finish. Well hopped to balance it out a bit, but still very thick and intense.

West Brothers Imperial Pilsner
Available on tap at the Rogue Eugene City Brewery. I was told this brew was aged for two years before being served. This was an amazing brew, very flavorful and strong, packs a punch. Pours a red/mahogany with a faint white head. Very rich and sweet malt aroma, lots of caramel, and notes of oak. Taste was very sweet caramel off the start. Very warming with a slight raisin taste. Finishes very well balanced with a mild bitterness in the finish. Very smooth for the strength, needs to age a bit, just kidding, light to non on the carbonation.

West Brothers Imperial IPA
(gabf 2003) Pours a rich amber color. Given the high ABV of this IPA, I was really surprised at the light taste. This is a very smooth IPA with caramel flavors. Little hops but a lemon/orange zip to the taste.

West Brothers IPA
Pours a hazy dark orange with a tall white head. Aroma had a good hoppiness to it with a citrus fruit thing goin on. This brew was very smooth and crisp with a good light maltiness up front followed by a mildly bitter end to balance it out. Good citrus hops in the aftertaste.

West Brothers Stout
Had this on tap at the new westbrothers off franklin blvd, i think its called the river lodge or something. Black with a nice tan head. Very thick and very smooth. Taste was kinda bitter with hints of coffee with a small amount of hops to back it up. A little to bitter of a stout for my taste but great non the less.

West Brothers Honey Orange Wheat
A great summer beer. The aroma is light floral, and the flavor is nicely fruity, with a very present honey sweetness, and toasted malts, the finish has just a taste of mandarin orange. Perfectly balanced, could have gone completely the opposite direction, but instead it came out just right.

West Brothers IPA
This brewery is really good at what they do, so far I have been nothing but impressed. This is a really great IPA. Pours a deep amberish brown color which was surprising and the nose, is floral and fruity, and the flavor is rich and powerful and just slap you upside the face. Great fruit flavors with a sweetness from the hops and the malt, but again a nice dry finish. Wonderful.

West Brothers Amber
I tried a dry hopped red ale, so I am assuming this is the same beer, with the wrong name. Anyhoo, this was very nice, lots of rich toasted malty notes, with a great almost esb like bitter hops bite. Great color and aroma, with a very well balanced finish.

West Brothers Shot in the Dark Stout
Now this is a powerful over the top stout. Quite enjoyable, but I might as well have drank a cup of coffee. A great espresso stout, but literally all the great things about coffee, with cream and sugar. Sweet in the mouthfeel with a great bone dry finish. Yum!

West Brothers Shot in the Dark Stout
On tap at the BBB in Augusta: A thick darkness with a thin creamy tan head unveils a powerful mocha coffee bean and roasted malt aroma. Body is very smooth and flavorful with nice sweetness throughout and a dry, bitter and lingering coffee finish. An enjoyable brew.

West Brothers Shot in the Dark Stout
This has a great coffee nose on it, which you'd expect from a beer conditioned with espresso beans. The aroma carries over into the flavor, but the coffee isn't backed up enough by the malts, which leaves this coffee stout a little light. Still, it'd make an excellent breakfast beer with that eye-opening coffee aroma and the lightness keeping it from being too heavy for bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed drinking.

West Brothers Honey Orange Wheat
This is definitely an easy-drinking summer beer. The honey is clear in the flavor, nicely complementing what is really just a hint of orange. There's just enough sweetness to be refreshing instead of cloying and the wheat in the mash makes for a nice palate on which the honey and orange to work.

West Brothers Falconers Flight Imperial IPA
MMMMmmmm, this stuff is delicious! Pours a deep grapefruit color, with a sweet floral aroma, Anticipating the flavor. Lots of zesty zing and hop bite, not overly bitter, could use more of a malt backbone, but still pretty well balancec conisdering all the hops. This is another one I could sit and drink all day!

West Brothers Falconers Flight Imperial IPA
Medium orange color. Medium white foamy head. Aroma is floral and citrusy. A medium to full bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are citrusy and floral. Bitter, but really doesn’t taste like it’s a 100+ IBU. The malts shine through but it is still nicely balanced. The hops and malts are fairly even in this one. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

Black as midnight. Good roasted nose & taste. Just a bit sweeter than the porter. Not a ton of hops, more subdued perhaps. Good stuff, just not remarkable. Does have that nice coffe finish though.

Ruby hued, VERY dark body with a nice chocolatey brown head. Well roasted barley malts. Lots of chocolate, milk and dark. Diddn""t linger worth a damn, but nice while it lasted. Tasty, but thin, watery mouthfeel is tought o overcome.

Looks more like an Irish red. Very nice lace. A really malty brew, more congruent with those Wisconsin beers back home. Caramel, of course. A decent floral hoppy bite too. Great balance.

West Brothers IPA
Slightly darker than most IPA"s around here. A very nice, tight head. Tons of cascade and Mt. Hood hops, but followed up by a caramely, well balanced experience. I"d be interested to see is the brewers used a direct flame kettle to get that carmely malt presence. This is definitely highly complex stuff. The 90 IBU are definitely countered well.

A pleasant surprise for the tasting, just not for drinking more than a single pint or even a taster. Nice cloudy pale yellow body. Crisp with hints of orange zest& plenty citrucyness. Lots of honey sweetness as well.

West Brothers IPA
Nice fruity-hoppy aroma...Color a copper/amber--a little bit darker than most IPAs---head on light side, but still a pretty brew...Flavor is suitably hoppy, but with distinct fruity countenance and healthy malt base...Body is in the medium range, so this is quaffable stuff as well...Finish is medium-dry, again with slight fruit overtones...very tasty...This is a "toned-down" West Coast IPA in the hop sense, but has the other ingredients to compensate...Robust and bright...A very good IPA.

West Brothers Imperial IPA
Color is a rich copper-amber with a thinnish head and wispy lace--no doubt the influence of the high ABV rating...Aroma is fairly light balance of malts and hops and also a bit estery. This has an assertive hop top-end---nice bloom---with a firm malt bottom and brandy-like fruit accents. Finish is also fruity-dry. Carbonation is moderate and substantial enough to provide a buoyancy to this powerhouse ale--this is amazingly quaffable stuff, but watch out! That Demon Alcohol sneaks up on you in a hurry!

West Brothers Hop Breath Pale
Color is a hazy glowing copper--creamy pock-marked head that leaves rings of lace---very attractive indeed...Aroma is citrus-hoppy with slight floral overtones...Flavor features a measured but snappy hop profile that comes forth immediately---a slight fruitiness accompanies the main body and lingers through to the lovely finish that fills the back of the palate with a fog of hop vapors...Body is medium-light, very appropriate for such a brightly-flavored ale. Overall, this is most stimulating to the senses...This has flavor and olfactory qualities that one only obtains fresh from the source.
