Barleywine Week at Flying Saucer

Details

Flying Saucer will host its 2011 Barleywine Week from Feb. 28 to March 6 at its 101 E. 13th St. location. Barleywine Week will feature a special tapping of a different current or vintage barleywine every night during the week at 7 p.m. with a special 2 p.m. rare bottle release on Sunday.

During the course of the week, guests will have the chance to sample a different barleywine every night of the week with two cases of rare varieties being released on Sunday. Guests will be given a punch card upon their first visit to Barleywine Week that they can have stamped throughout the week. The person with the most stamps on Sunday gets first priority for choosing a bottle of rare barleywine to be sampled that day.

The selections of barleywines being offered throughout the week include a Monday night offering of Great Divide Old Ruffian; 2009 Schlafly Oak-Aged Barleywine on Tuesday; Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale on Wednesday; Anchor Steam Old Foghorn Ale on Thursday; Lagunitas Brewing Company Olde GnarlyWine on Friday; Sierra Nevada Jack and Ken’s Black Barleywine on Saturday; and Sunday will feature 2010 Big Sky Olde Bluehair Barley Wine and 2009 North Coast Barrel-Aged Old Stock Ale.
