1st Annual Carolina Brew and Q
Flying Saucer Draught Emporium will sponsor The Carolina Brew & Q beer festival Saturday, April 6 from noon to 4:30 p.m. The event will happen outdoors, rain or shine, in the 1100 block of Park Street in the Vista of Columbia.
Beer lovers should come thirsty, as 10 different breweries will feature 50 different beers available for sampling to include 10 cask brews. Flying Saucer UFO members will have access to the casks during the first hour of the festival, after that anyone can sample them.
A portion of proceeds from The Carolina Brew & Q will benefit The National Kidney Foundation, to honor Jeremy Letton, who passed away earlier this year from kidney disease. Jeremy was a fellow UFO member and owned Columbia’s Garden Bistro.
In addition to beer, guests can enjoy Carolina barbecue and side items. The festival will also feature carnival games like Ring Around the Beer Bottle, Corn Hole and a Beer Goddess Dunk Tank. Food and games are free for guests, but donations will be accepted to The National Kidney Foundation in Letton’s name.
