Snallygaster

Details

Named for the fearsome and toothy mythical beast said to terrorize the region at the turn of the century, Snallygaster, a beer festival benefiting Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture returns to Washington. This year Snallygaster plans to tap no fewer than 150 unique craft beers on the grounds of Union Market DC on October 19 against a back drop of area’s top toques, finest food trucks, music, games, family-fun and more.

Beer Director Greg Engert, the man behind the acclaimed beer programs at Birch & Barley, ChurchKey, GBD, Rustico and more, will be curating the beer list for Snallygaster and his picks will be unveiled along the way. Guests can expect a sea of classic Oktoberfest lagers, German style and German-inspired beers, stellar autumn seasonals, as well as coveted international finds and unheard of rarities. Highlights will include a selection from Bluejacket brews, a huge collection of cask ales, assorted barrel-aged brews, and even a host of Franconian gravity-poured, rubber-clad kegs.

Two advance ticket packages are now available online. The Kraken at $30 includes 1PM entry through will-call, admission, 25 food + drink tickets, and an official Snallygaster beer mug and The Jabberwock at $50 includes 1 hour early access to the beers with a 12 PM entry through will-call, admission, 30 food + drink tickets, and the official Snallygaster beer mug. These ticket packages are only available online and in advance. Admission at the door is $10 on the day of the event, 100% of which will be donated to Arcadia. Tickets for food and beverages will be sold throughout the venue. $1 = 1 ticket. Full beers will be priced from 5-9 tickets on average, tasting portions from 3-6 on average. This is a family friendly event and children will be admitted free. You must be at least 21 years of
