Burns Night // Mel Gibson release party

Details

Speakeasy will be hosting the most Scottish night ever, to celebrate the release of the most Scottish beer ever.
To mark Burns Night (celebrated every year on 25th January, the birthday of Scotland’s finest poet, Robbie Burns), we will be serving up a limited amount Scotland’s finest culinary gifts to the world - Haggis, Black Pudding, and mashed potatoes, with an accompanying playlist of bagpipe music and other Scottish tunes.

But the real star of the night will be the first ever tasting of a brand new entry to Põhjala’s Cellar Series - Mel Gibson!
This is a full on Scottish Ale brewed with Maris Otter, and Crystal malts brought over specially from the UK, as well as dash of peated malt, this was devised by Scots, brewed by Scots (and Estonians), and finally left to rest in a combination of Highland and Island Scotch Whisky barrels for almost a year.
Along the way, it has picked up delicate flavours of sea salt and caramel, with hints of liquorice and a rich cracked black pepper cushioned by a gentle oak.

As good whisky barrels are difficult to come by, we could not brew Mel Gibson as much as some of our last few Cellar Series beers. The only keg in Estonia will be tapped at Speakeasy and a limited number of bottles will be available as well.

PS: Chris promised to wear his kilt!
