The January Meeting for The Society for the Pursuit of Hoppiness. Presented by Avery Brewing Co. January 19th, 2009. 6-8pm, upstairs at The West End Tavern
A Night of Hops – Food paring style
Join Society members at the West End Tavern for a 3-course meal with beer to match for $25.00 per member (+ tax & grat). - Non-members $40, this includes membership fee & T-shirt
Executive Chef Chris Blackwood has created the following menu for the evening:
Lobster-Stuffed Mac-n-Cheese
With India Pale Ale fondue
Paired with Avery IPA

Hoppy Smoky Buffalo Strip (there will be Centennial hops in the smoker!)
With three potato hash & New World Porter balsamic reduction
Paired with New World Porter

"Hog Heaven" Pork loin
Maple-cured pork loin brushed with Hog Heaven BBQ sauce served with corn fritters and pork belly collard greens.
Paired with Hog Heaven Barleywine–style Ale.

There will also be an informal seminar on food pairing and attendees will leave with a copy of Chris Blackwood’s Hog heaven BBQ Sauce recipe.
