A few days in Winnipeg, what to do?

I’ll be at a conference in the middle of October. Anything I shouldn’t miss? It seems like the Barley Brothers locations are the must hit, but is it even worth going to Half Pints or Fort Garry? I see they don’t really pour pints at location.

Also, I may be able to bring some D.C.-area beers for an easy in-person trade if someone is interested. I still haven’t tried Le Temps Noir, Black Galaxy or pothole porter and it doesn’t seem like they will be available necessarily on tap in town when I’m there. Or will they?

The owner of half pints is a cool guy and on ratebeer. I would shoot him an email at half pints and he will let you know where to go and may get you in touch with some locals. He may even be willing to trade?

Thanks! Let me know if anyone wants to trade for a few locals for locals. I can bring D.C. area stuff like On the Wings of Armageddon, Penn Quarter Porter, etc. as well as area stuff like Stillwater, Flying Dog, Duck Rabbit and others. A lot of other stuff is widely available here, Founders, Bells, Avery, Allagash etc.

Bring beer from your locals and we’ll trade you one for one. Specifically, don’t go out of your way for anything fancy, as we generally like the same things you do.

I may be able to get you a Pothole in trade, but batch 2 of Le Temps Noir is still in barrels, and the Black Galaxy won’t be brewed until after the new year.

We will have Oktoberfest, Dead Ringer and Hoppenheimer in the specialty department, plus our regulars.

Oh shit. I should be checking these forums more often. People rarely post anything Winnipeg-related on here. Would have loved to trade. Sorry I missed this post.
