52 styles. IPA, Imperial Stout, Porter and Wild lead the pack.

Slowly but surely IPAs, APAs and Session IPAs are taking over from Bitters, Goldens and ESBs. Thank God.

Only on here. And not if you mainly drink in local pubs, outside of London or wherever.

In my own stats I mean. I’m in Cambridge at the moment, which is decent for the shires but shires nonetheless.

There are some good bitters and golds so it isn’t strictly a case of ’four legs good two legs bad’ but it is nice to have more choice.

70 Styles Rated, top styles Golden / Blonde with 300, 73 more than Bitter.

Lincolnshire pubs are very much Golden focused.

84 Styles Rated

India Pale Ale (IPA) 2.85 221
American Pale Ale 2.74 128
Imperial Stout 3.25 111
And rather bizarrely, bringing up 4th place: Cider 2.68 110

Didn’t notice goldes anywhere near the top, then again I’m not in the United Kingdom of Hote Goldes very often. That may change a bit when I type in my St. Albans backlog in a month or two, but that will only be a few dozen.

I’ve worked out where all the bitters have gone. People are logging them on as amber ales instead. I don’t know why, but keep seeing this happening with standard UK bitters. Are people just trying to up their amber ale ticks,,,?

It may result from the brewers. I noticed that amber seems to be a popular description. That and ’pale’, of course.
