80 Cool little sports bar feel with an absurdity of taps. Lots of stuff that isn’t available elsewhere in the prairies. Keep drinking it, and push through those taps. |
82 Lots of seating space. Plenty of tvs to watch any sort of game on. Best beer selection in Winnipeg. Little bit of everything to choose from. Burgers are good here. Not a very diverse menu though foodwise. Overall great place to go try a couple new beers |
82 Cool place to get a bunch of ticks from all over Canada. They have a good selection of Manitoba and Saskatchewan stuff and a selection of other titles. Tons of taps. Only small problem is they don’t seem to focus much on quality control. They have a lot of stuff, but a lot of the beers are on the boring side. Otherwise great place to visit if you can get out to the location. |
82 A large chain like restaurant that has a large central bar where we posted up. The place was crazy due to the world cup but bartenders did their best to talk about the beer and keep up. Selection was superb with tons of taps. They were not doing samplers due to the crowd, but they did have half pints. Food was solid and prices were not too shabby. A must for Winnipeg. |
68 When driving south off of Pembina, it’s easy to miss the turnoff to Barley Bros, I know I did for the two times I’ve been there so far.
The Stadium location has a nice open and inviting feel to it. there’s a glass display where you can see all the kegs that are being tapped - it’s reminiscent to going to brewpubs in Montreal or Quebec City and seeing the tanks brewing behind a window. The atmosphere is by far more pleasant than the Polo Park location as it doesnt have the feeling of "this looks like a Kelsey’s, but with a paint job" but instead has a nice fresh look to it.
Service is mixed - the first time I went there, they had decent service, but each other time I’ve went - the staff flat out ignores their patrons for up to 45 minutes at a time.
The beer menu is INSANELY overwhelming, there’s 150 beers on tap! Which is something I’ve never seen in Manitoba. There’s beers ranging from Dieu du Ciel from Montreal to just about any corner of the planet.
Decent burger and fries, but after feeling ripped off at the Polo Park location, I tend to eat before visiting. That said, the Benson burger was delicious! |
86 Easy to find, impressive method of displaying the beers (largest beer fridge in Winnipeg? with all kegs on display), the most taps, great selection of beers, most of which are craft. I liked the assortment of seating options -- big booths for groups, smaller tables for two, and a large bar in view of the taps. Great service, knowledgable bartenders, and delicious food. Yes, you should come here. |
72 New review: This was an exciting place when it first opened, and for a while they were rotating taps quite frequently and every time I’d go there there would be something new and interesting that I hadn’t had before. Lately I’ve found I don’t go as often because I’ve had everything and they haven’t been as adventurous in bringing in cool stuff. Still, a visitor to Winnipeg would likely find a lot here they haven’t had. Though, with the new brewpubs and tap room opening up Barley Brothers movies down lower on my list of places to check out in the city.
Old review: This is definitely the best beer destination in Winnipeg. I’m still waiting for the day we’ll get a smallish downtown bar or pub with this kind of selection, but for now suburban massive restaurant will have to do. The atmosphere is pretty good considering. Cool glass case with all the tanks visible. Extensive selection of craft beers, though a couple macros on tap which is unnecessary. They also have a couple on nitro, the only place in Winnipeg to do so. Just as with the other Barley Brothers, it’s best to sit at the bar for best service. Knowledgable bar-tenders, which is very rare in Winnipeg. |
80 I like this place more than the original location. Bigger, better atmosphere. friendly service - only 50 beers were tapped at the time, and a lot of them are available at the other location. So that was a bit of a bummer. But that also means that 100 more taps are on the way and here’s hoping they’re new to the market and awesome as well! Menu is pretty much the same as the first location. I will rate again once they have all beers tapped and their full menu up |
