Popular place, busy but large enough if you keep heading toward the back, based on a "concept" but with enough age on it now that it pulls off the brown thing, barely. The range goes far enough beyond InBev to be interesting; we were drinking XX Bitter and lambic and a few local Dutch beers. Table service seemed hit or miss; bar was the better bet. Food looked all right. Handily, there is a cash machine across the street.
Based on frequent visits. Old fashioned Belgian type of ’Bruin Café’.Very nice relaxing atmosphere. Good selection of mostly Belgian beers with now and than a real surprise. Very friendly staff. Food is of good quality. Prices ok
Old-style bar (’bruincafe’) close to the centre. Large selection of beers, mostly Belgian and Dutch. Food is ok. Atmosphere is really nice: good to spend a lazy sunday afternoon reading the newspaper, or a crowded friday or saturday night to enjoy the live music. Prices are slightly steep.
This place has a nice ambiance. The interior is somehow cozy and worm. The selection of beers is huge. I think 50-60 beers are served, of which between 15 and 20 are drafted. For each beer, there is a matching glass. The bar is surrounded by hundreds of glasses. Quite imposing. The menu is very organized. The beers are sorted by type. This makes it easy to choose a beer for your mood. Most of the time the crazy names of the local beers don’t tell what kind of beer it is. The bartenders are quite good. I told what kind of beer I was looking for and I was perfectly assisted with choosing the right one. The bartender made a perfect recommendation. Everyone who is visiting Rotterdam must visit this place.

We (me, dad and Barry) visited Boudewijn on Saturday 14th March 2015. Me and Barry nipped out to do a spot of record browsing as there were two record stores specialising in vinyl on the same street, but nothing took our fancy so we were soon back here. Eendrachtsplein was the closest metro station to this pub for those using public transport. Boudewijn is a nice café/bar specialising in Belgian beers though I did notice some Dutch beers on the bottled beer menu and on tap and had a hoppuy De Molen Saison for my first in here. This place is on two levels with a large bar ahead as you enter from the street called Nieuwe Binnenweg. Service was good the mostly female staff were friendly, helpful and seemed to know their beery stuff. As you walk past the RH side of the bar to the rear of the pub you drop down a few steps to the lower back part of this place, it’s a bit darker here with less natural light but there are a number of tables down here, the toilets are also on this level. There is also a small section of bar here and a beer fridge. We stayed here for about 60-90 mins, it got busy with a large group but it was a pleasant enough place. Barry got excited when he saw Westvleteren 12 but his excitement waned when he realised it was €15 a bottle. A nice bar, with a solid tap and bottle list.
Quite large spacious place with quite a big bar in the center, which looks pretty nice. Quite high ceiling gives the feeling of an old hotel bar. Mostly wooden stuff. I dont know if I like it or hate it actually. Tap list shows a lot of usual Belgian suspects, but that was to be expected from a Belgisch Biercafe. Bottle list also shows some Kompaan and Kaapse (not surprising as the guy running de Kaapse used to run this bar). Ok bar, but not outstanding to my standards.
Quite a big place, part of chain. decent beer lsit with good local brews there. Tried local beer and had small ’Belgian’ snack. Service knows their stuff and also knows how to approach customers. Nice place, worth a visit.
Nice Belgian bar in the centre of Rotterdam. Not only the typical Belgian beers, also De La Senne, Graal, Girardin and Cantillon available. Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

A nice enough bar in central Rotterdam. Fairly big with a decent enough but very typical Belgian bottle selection and the occasional interesting local micro on tap. Service is friendly enough and helpful, haven’t tried the food. Worth popping in if you’re in the area but not worth going out of the way for.
