66 Livercrawl#3, off harrisoni's original route, now called "Blackburne Arms Hotel (And Gastropub)". Nice open and bright eatery, good selection of local beers, and exceptionally friendly staff. The tender who served us even rushed off to the kitchen to fetch the chef to advise on a crawl as he was more into the cask ales scene. Having said that, we found a right bevvy here - three thirds thank you - bosh! Happily left them a bar of Estonian chocolate as a thank you, and happy to insert this into a final Livercrawl (SE central) plan, a worthy stop. |
54 More a place to eat, than a pub. Just outside the Gregorian quarter. Not a place you normally pop into. Had a fair decent tap selection. A couple of interesting ticks. But not a really great beer place. |
68 Beyond the gothic Cathedral on its north side, this is a brick end terrace building converted into many purposes. You can stay here, eat, or just drink, all options are open. The front area has many tables suitable for dining, with the rear more suitable for drinking. The bar against the back of the inside wall connects the two areas and it’s all open plan. There’s a couple of tables in the low walled patio area out front as well. There’s no shortage of drink choices with local craft ales available both on cask and keg at fairly reasonable prices for a well decorated, relaxed venue. |
