72 Visited February 2010. The food was very nice, service was friendly (though maybe a bit too familiar). When it came to beer selection: the beer list promised an awful lot of very nice beers, but each time I had made my choice, the waiter said: "no, we don’t have that beer anymore". This happened, I’m not exaggerating, 3 times when ordering beer for the starters and 4 times for the main course. Apparently they were redoing their beer list or something. Might very well be, but at least scratch out the beers that are not in stock any more. This spoiled what could have been a very nice beer and dine evening. |
88 A good selection of beers on tap, some aged bottles (I had a two year old Orval), and about 150 other bottles. The outgoing owner of the restaurant loves beer and has made it his mission to maintain a good selection of Belgian beer while being able to recommend pairings in the restaurant. Although we didn’t have a chance to eat in the restaurant, we did have the inclusive breakfast with our hotel room, and the quality was very good. We stayed here for two nights and would definitely return again - it was memorable. Both the hotel and the restaurant are in the Michelin guide. |

80 We only tried the outside patio, which was a good spot to get away from the madding crowds for a bit. Did not try the food. Tap selection was pretty good (12 total), bottle selection was good. Six aged beers, including a few that are relatively hard to find. Very knowledgeable and efficient staff. Decent rices. Worth a stop for sure. |
82 Clean and stylish restaurant with a terras. Decent service with an ober that speaks perfectly dutch, french and english. He knows a lot of beer, but made some small mistakes. It can happen to anyone. Everything is very stylish and clean. So this isn’t an average beerpub but a stylish place where you can find some interesting beers. The main eyecatcher is the Liefmans Kriek Unsweetened, however this isn’t available at the moment. The reason is that Liefmans has been bought by Duvel Moortgat and Erasmus needed to nogatiate again. They did and are expecting the Kriek soon, so another visit in some time is a must. However tere are plenty of other beers on the chart that are quite extraordiary. The main eyecatcher is a Stille Nacht from 1986 which was superb. I haven’t tried the food yet but I am pretty sure that the food will be great. Overall a great experience for the beergeeks that wants to be more stylish and have a good beer ofcourse. |
78 Modern looking restaurant on the first floor of a hotel. Solid beer list with a few very nice goodies. I had the 1986 De Dolle Stille Nacht and it rocked. Service was okay, but trips to the table were infrequent at best. The small bowl of cheese was very welcome with our drinks though. Drinks weren’t terribly expensive, although the food menu looked rather pricey. Definitely a solid stop in Brugge and worth checking out if for no other reason than to see what’s on their special/cellar list. |
76 Quite modern and fashionable hotel bar. Fast and professional service. A slightly limited beer selection, but there were some really good stuff. Food was very bood but a bit pricey. |
84 Very nice, modern looking restaurant in the bottom floor of a hotel. There’s an emphasis on beer pairing here, as they’ve got a solid selection of classic Belgian ales on tap and in the bottle. They also had the De Dolle 21 3x7 when I was there in September 2009, which is what I chose to pair with my dinner. The food is very good, though pricey. Our waiter was kind of a grumpy old guy with a very quirky personality, though he appreciated our knowledge and love of beer, and he was professional throughout the service. I’d definitely go back for another nice meal with some great beer. |
