Café Springhaver

Nice, stylish bar of the Springhaver cinema. Nice ambiance, but the beer selection isn’t very impressive. Some local beers, but mostly regulars.

A very nice cosy and popular café attached to a cinema / theatre. It was very busy with diners when I visited on the third day of the film festival but the staff were efficient and friendly. I’d missed the sign saying “bar service only” but they kindly pointed it out and served me at my table anyway. The beer list isn’t very exciting (eight taps, including two guests, and about eleven bottles) so it’s not really a beer destination but it’s a nice place and I was glad to have stopped off there on my way to Derat. (Visited 27 September 2014).

Seen lots of movies here. Last one was Marley. They have some special beers. And you can eat here. But this place is known for movies. The better ones mostly. You won’t find Hollywood crap here. So for movies this one should probably get a high rating. Heck what am I rating here? A movie theatre. A good one in it’s kind.

Bar attached to small cinema of Springhaver in the centre of Utrecht. Visited and had some food before I went to see "Nebraska". Visited this already earlier a couple of times. Boring bottled list, one or two semi-interesting tap beers. Food is decent and not very expensive, but not any different than most pubfood. You have to order at the bar, so what’s that for service? I like the bar as a bar, though as a place on Ratebeer, it’s not one you should go for.
