78 Visited 6/4/2022. More a wine shop than beer shop but at the far end they had 2 shelf units and a fridge full of beers and ciders with a good local focus. Discovered both a new local brewery and cidery. Very friendly service from people clearly interested in their customers. Good visit. |
78 A good selection of local beers in a wine shop with friendly & helpful service, parking was 2 mins away |
78 As others have said, mostly a wine shop but a good selection of beers at the back. Staff were friendly and had a chat. Prices were a little expensive, nothing major. Half hour free parking oustide, but you still need to get a ticket. |
76 Wine shop with smallish but well put together beer selection. Service was friendly. Prices were OK. Tried a couple of other places in town but this was the best of the bunch. |
80 Predominantly a wine shop, but it’s still possibly the best bottleshop for beer in Bristol. The few shelves reserved for beer are well stocked with many beers from local breweries but others from further afield |
80 It says something rather sad about the current state of beer appreciation in the UK that this pioneering, privately owned wine merchant’s venture, off Whiteladies Road not far from Clifton Down station is STILL the best source of beers to take home in the whole of metropolitan Bristol. Not that it’s a bad place at all, far from it. It is just that it would be great for it to have some serious competition after all these years. There has been a beer revolution going on after all and Bristol is at the epicentre of one part of that in the UK. Cutting and pasting the very first write-up from over a decade ago, "A lovely little bottle shop in Bristol. It’s amazing how much stuff you can cram into such a tiny space! Dominic and Rachel are both very nice and helpful, and if it’s not on the shelf they will do what they can to get it for you." Still true. |

72 Corks Of Cotham is easily the best bottle shop in Bristol. It is located to the north part of town, but still only 20/25 minutes walk from the centre. The beer selection is tucked away at the back, but still comprises of some 200 beers. They have good world-wide selection of craft beer, but most importantly (to me anyway) it includes a comprehensive range of good local beer - Arbor, Wiper & True, Rocket Science etc. Prices seems decent to me, but then again I live in London.... Friendly staff and overall good shopping experience. The place to go for take-away bottles in Bristol. |
78 Predominantly a wine shop so beer selection has been reduced to an inauspicious place at the back of the shop. Still there selection and variety is well thought out. Staff are very knowledgable and were able to offer tasting notes on every beer I queried.
Negatives abound in that parking can be difficult and prices are steep even for craft beer standards. |
44 Nice shop, hard to get parking. Good choice of beers, I got some magic rock, cannonball, 8 ball and highwire and some Buxton Wyoming Sheep ranch, all were well over priced, I saw other beers there that were probably a pound extra on top of other places |
