60 Odd but interesting. No whales but a surprising number of semi-obscure beers for rural Maine. The downside is that many of them are far from fresh, lots of 2012 . product including many beers that don’t age all that gracefully. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. |
56 Mentioned on the Oak Pond Brewery website as a stockist. As the brewery has very restricted hours, and I didn’t happen to be passing during them, this seemed the most convenient place to seek out the beers. Doesn’t look a lot from the outside and doing a roaring trade in Bud Lite and ciggies. However the craft beer selection was a pleasant surprise and they had crammed a lot into a quite small space. Picked up 5 Oak Pond bombers for a ludicrously low price and also found 3 Penobscot Bay beers that I wasn’t expecting at all. Otherwise, the selection is quite extensive but lacking real rarities. Although I didn’t visit any other nearby stores, I’d guess this is pretty good for the area. |
