34 Similar U St Jazz revival decor with hipster edge like Busboys and Poets. Extremely, large, open space. This is a popular U St brunch spot. People come for the food and the bottomless mimosas. Beer is certainly not important here, though they do carry a handful or local tap beer like Starr Hill, Heavy Seas, Flying Dog, Dogfish Head. But they also carry a Spanish macro lager, Abita, and Woodchuck cider. Pretty poor selection overall. Food is good, expensive, and actually the plates are smaller than you would expect. Collard greens and other typical Southern brunch fare sides are pretty expensive and at times do not come with the dish. Service is actually very poor. I’ve been here twice. First time we had a group of six and the other time we had a group of eight. With the larger table, the server pretended that bottomless mimosas "were only for people sitting at the bar" when the table next to us had bottomless mimosas. I asked other tables in the restaurant and they all had the bottomless mimosa deal. Food took about 30-40 minutes to arrive. A lot of it was too cold. Portions were small. Price was exorbitant. Since U St has about 10 other brunch places, I have stopped coming here with my fiance and her girlfriends. So don’t come here for the beer, or the food, so...don’t come. |
60 Same owners as Busboys & Poets, better beer selection. 10 taps, no macros on tap or in bottles. Nothing unique or exciting, but they do have a few local beers, and one Spanish one. Food is above average, brunch is good too. There is a bar-only space in the back. Nice atmosphere. |
