84 Wide selection of their beers and guest taps. WIFI. Flights. Plenty of seating. Nice low rune music. TV with the sound turned down. Plenty of parking. Good service and selection |
76 This place was a great find during a random tour of rural NC breweries. Cool music, great beer, darts. It looks like they sometimes have live music. From the outside it’s a warehouse, but inside has a cool feel. |
74 I really liked BearWaters. It’s on a small industrial estate but has a tiny, welcoming doorway. Inside there are various wall paintings, including a mural showing a lakeland scene so you could almost imagine yourself in the mountains. Behind the small stage at one end there’s a painting of a bear in a beer glass flanked by musical notes and a paddle which serves as a hanger for the many medals BearWaters beer has won in the short time since the brewery was established. The paintings were all done by Kevin, a very nice chap who owns the brewery. He and his brother are keen kayakers / canoeists so there are also some plastic kayaks hanging from the ceiling and some attractive photos of watery scenes. There were 12 of their beers on tap, all of which were rather drinkable.

70 Located in a warehouse down a road with a dead end sign. It has an outdoors theme with a kayak hung up behind the bar. It kind of reminded me of Nantahala Brewing. They had 9 of theirs on tap plus a guest tap, the beers were solid enough and they were reasonably priced. |
72 Great totally laid back place to have a brew. Staff is friendly and a dog Gypsy is running around. They even let you bring your dog. Food is limited to hot dogs and pretzel sticks. Free basketball and fooseball. I thought the beer was very good particularly the winter warmer and stout. They have a high gravity IPA. I’m not an IPA guy so didn’t try it. They sell grolwlers but only of their low gravity beers. Thought beer was a good value. Patrons are all friendly. About 8 of their beers but only one guest tap. |
88 They have done a great job with this space in a warehouse complex. once inside, you’d never know that it is indeed a warehouse. There’s a long wooden bar, some tables and couches for seating. Two TV’s are behind the bar and they have free foosball, darts, and a basketball hoop set up for entertainment. hot dogs and chips are available for some munchies. The beer selection was pretty decent. The hoppy styles could’ve been hoppier, but the porter and the rye were both completely enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back here for a pint when I’m in town. |
