I visit this place a few times each year when other things take me LaGrange. INdoors is basically your standard corporate bar / restaurant theme - dark wood chair & table, wood, kitschy stuff on the walls. That aint bad and it is comfortable but not a standout. The outdoor beer garden is quite nice and not so typical. Great selection of brews. Good food, mostly bar-grub. Burgers are excellent. Service is good, but the place can be jam packed and it understandably gets slower then. FOr the area the prices are quite reasonable.

Decent food, though it leans on things more on the heavier side. Some lighter choices would be nice on the menu. But we’re here for the beer, really. The beer menu is damn impressive, especially the number of bottles / cans they carry. It’s gotta be close to 150. The tap menu is usually interesting, but sometimes not. About every 3rd visit he tap menu doesn’t have anything on it that impresses. I give it kind of a lower rating because of the food selection and the fact that they tend to be out of bottles quite often. One visit I had to go with my fourth choice on my second beer because they were out of 1, 2 and 3.

The summer beer garden is the best thing about this place...without that - the beer selection makes it palatable. The beer selection is pretty fantastic, but the wait staff other than the bartenders know nothing about beer, maybe that’s true everywhere, but they should at least know about the specials, they don’t. The waitresses are usually 18ish and usually have an attitude. The food is okay - nothing fantastic.

A downtown storefront on LaGrange’s "main street" that’s got a family restaurant in front, and expended in the back to include a small beer bar, then a tented party/banquet area, and an outdoor beer garden. Rooftop? Doubt it was open in November. I sat mostly in the beer bar, where I finally shelled out to pop my cherry on Sam Adams Utopias ($20 for 2 oz., and they had six bottles). I counted, and their beer menu shows, 36 draft taps, though they likely have an occasional firkin handy. They’re making a real effort at becoming a "good beer" bar. Did not try the food, looked like usual pub grub (six versions of hamburger and chicken breast sandwich with fries), but front restaurant may have more variety.

Great beer selection, the best beer garden in all the Chicago suburbs, and maybe rivals most Chicago versions...downside is the staff is overworked, doesn’t know anything about their magnificent beer selection (usually 100-150+ bottles) and other than their burgers, their food is clearly microwaved frozen crap.

Used to live in La Grange and have been here at least 20 times. 38 taps that include mostly imports and macros. Taps are rotated frequently and always something new on tap. Have seen Two Hearted on tap here. They have about 300 bottles but always seems they are out of the ones I want. Food is good and corn beef is great. What makes this place is the beer garden which is 2 stories. Place is alway bumpin in the summer and a great place to enjoy a brew.

Huge place!!! Giant outdoor patio and rooftop patio...I was quite impressed by the beer selection too! Nothing too rare, just a wide variety of good session beers...service sucked.

I frequent this place on many occasions since I work in the same town, unfortunately I can’t (and don’t) drink during work. This is more of a restaurant than a beer place. The wait staff is very un-knowledgeable of the beers on the menu; however the beer menu is quite large with many bottles to chose, there freshness may be suspect. 20 or so on tap. Great food. If you’re visiting Brookfield Zoo, this is a great place to stop for dinner with the kids.

A "shotgun" style layout to the building makes Palmer Place seem cramped, but it’s really quite huge, with an adequate smoking area in the back by the 38 taps and a large beer garden for you outdoorsy types. Atmosphere struck me as pizza joint/cheap diner and the service was a little slow, but the food was pretty good (and reasonably priced).

Beer selection was awesome with those aforementioned taps and around 310 bottles on their list (it says 340 above, but I’m wondering if that includes the Mike’s, Smirnoff and related products that were on the "beer" menu). If you’re looking to tick-off some rare countries... give it a go! (They also let me take my empties home after rinsing, so that was cool.) I must add that things must have changed since Cornfield rated... it’s hit-or-miss as to whether the goods on their beer list will be available. (Also be wary as there are no prices listed on the beer menu. You may get quite a sobering dose of reality when you are presented with your bill. I was happily sucking down one Monk’s Cafe after another, not realizing they were $7.50 each!)

Convenient to I-55. A mere 5 minutes north of Mainstreet Wines & Spirits, so grab some grub and a few cold beers, then make a short drive south to grab some for home!

For some reason I’ve only been here for lunch. The food, a step above regular bar faire, isn’t bad. Where else can you go for a braunschweiger club sandwich? The service is decent. But what you’re really there for is the beer selection. Truly an amazing, rotating line-up, and they’ve never been out of what I ask for. Every brew’s been fresh to date. This is a really good spot to sit back and spend some time enlarging your beer experience.
