A fantastic and traditional restaurant located in a quiet street area. The food is great and the portions are big, and the beermeny is the same. Many of the dishes are even cooked with beer. When sitting inside is like going back in time with the traditional looking interior. A must visit when in Brussels and you’re up for some old traditional restaurant experience. It’s anyway worth a visit for the beer meny alone.

A short-walk from Fontainas lies this spectacularly old restaurant, the kind of which where many things are too small for modern humans. Many rooms with old mirrors and very old wooden furniture. Feeling a bit basementy, you would not necessarily feel very comfortable here with as a bunch of loud guys. Very traditional approach to cuisine and service, the waiters finishing the meals in the dining room which you don’t see anywhere nowadays. The traditional Belgian food was excellent, I had a great waterzooi. You pay a small premium for being in such an old place though. They have their own range of beers, rather typical yeasty Belgian stuff brewed in Payottenland if I understood correctly and above that, a solid list of bottles is available, probably not top 10 in Brussels though, but not quite worth pulling you in only for the list. You’d come to see the place and eat and would enjoy great beers as a bonus. Nice historical or even institutional experience, but I did not feel the same passion nor warmth than in Restobières.

Dark but very nice place to spend some time. The food is very good, but I was disappointed how the waiter served our Cantillon gueuze. He poured it as if it was a lemonade or so. The result was a muddy coloured gueze that tasted very funky.

My last experience here was not a particularly good one - waiter was very aloof and wouldn’t provide a beer menu, simply stated we have only bruin & blonde. I went for the bruin and happily got a St Bernard Grottenbier(I feared Leffe or Grimbergen). Food was excellent but a little pricey.

The food is traditional and excellent, the wait-staff is professional and knowledgeable, and the beer selection is quite good.

Inviting aromas as soon as I entered the restaurant. I had a lovely meal and the mussels in Maredsous cream sauce was delicious. 3 Fonteinen lambic on draught is the clincher. Staff were attentive, friendly and treated me well. Meal portions were moderate but filling. Fine experience and well worth visiting at least once.

A really intimate and cozy restaurant in the middle of Brussels. Located in the cellar floor of an old building, In’t Spinnekopke is bustling with activity without ever being stressful or noisy - just make sure you make a table reservation some time in advance. Our waiter was a charming old guy who’d probably told the same jokes to his customers for ages, but his personality seemed to blend so seamlessly with the old cellar that we were thoroughly entertained. The beer selection is mediocre, but the food is fantastic; creatively made with various beers in the ingredients, and served in very generous portions. We were recommended beers that were all good, and the prices are not over the top. But all in all, this is a place to go for beer cuisine - it was really, really good. Highly recommended.

Visited here a few years back. Arrived at opening time and grabbed a pew outside. Enjoyed a couple of nice choices, including the Cantillon Faro, which is the reason I came. Probably better if you sample the interesting looking food, but I was just there for the beer.

I’ve eaten here about 3 to 4 times. Food is wonderful. I would definately recommend the Rochefort 10 pan seared scallops. I would also recommend the chocolate mousse with whatever beer the waiter recommends. All the food that I tried is pretty good. I’m not a huge fan of mussels, however the smell from the other tables ordering this dish is wonderful. I would recommend to just ask the waiter to order for you. Tell him what you are leaning toward food wise, and to bring you a different beer with every course. You won’t go wrong! p.s. this place is kinda difficult to find if you’ve been drinking at other places!!!
