So this place has 3 things they brew on tap, and nothing else (draft or bottle). The three things are all lame (I swear the one they call an amber ale is a stout, also). Service is friendly, decor is pleasant, if tattered. Food is ok. Not bad, but nothing special.

Not my favorite place in the world. The place is called the nodding head because they’re obsessed with bobble head dolls there. Ok! They only had three things on tap which was a dissapointment. The Berliner Weisse which everyone raves about didn’t knock my socks off. I thought 6 bucks for a 3 beer flight was a tad on the high side, especially since nothing they had was over 5%. The place is loud and dark and dingy, but none of those in charming ways. The bar was really small and felt out of place in the room. Not a place I’m going to be rushing back to in the future.

Walked up the narrow steps to the second floor and enjoyed the atmosphere .... Really nice looking old bar kind of an dark older feel to everything in there ... friendly waitress who knew her beers and was prompt .... They had 8 beers on tap I tried half of them and enjoyed some of the staple brews and some others not so much .... the food was good had a smoked turkey wrap and the fries not too bad try them with the bourbon jalapeno mustard .... paid 8.50 for parking a few blocks away .... all in all I’d come back to try some brews if passing by, but wasn’t blown away with any of their brews

A nice city tap room that has about anything you might want. The beers range from the almost Lite beer, 700 Level named after the nuts that would occupy that tier at Eagles games in the days of the old vet drinking Miller Lite to the 3C Double IPA. Most selections are very good and they will do some off the wall stuff now and then. The food is very tasty, standard pub fare. Service is always friendly and helpful. Prices are what you would expect from a center city bar. Best of all, they sit right above the Sansom Street Oyster House. Have some oysters and a couple of beers and then some more oysters and then a couple more beers. You get the idea.

The Philadelphia region is full of amazing beer and lots of brewpubs and Nodding Head is one of my favorite. The weathered philly ambiance is right up my alley, along with the visible brewing equipment and bobble head collection. I’ve always had pleasant, knowledgeable service. The food is nothing extraordinary but, good grub and at good prices (however, this is the opinion of a vegetarian... I hear their mussels are awesome). As for the beer... the fellas a Nodding Head know good beer and are masters at their craft! I have yet to have a beer their that I don’t love. Their Grog is one of my all time favorite beers. Awesome!

A place to visit each time I hit Philadelphia. Yes, it is located uo a flight of rickety stairs; yes, it seems a bit dark and dingy with tiny bathrooms; yes, the bar is dark and sometimes crowded; but, yes, Nodding Head puts out some tasty brews in the small space they have. The food ain’t bad either. A must when in Philadelphia.

This place had a couple decent beers. It also had a decent atmosphere. Other than that it does not offer much. No beer to go, beer lines tasted dirty. Service was subpar.

Went here w/ Jredmond, Streets, and Brendan. Cool atmosphere... upstairs bar, feels like an old family room - lots of wood and antique looking tables. Dart boards were fun, good juke boke. Beers were good, not great. Fun hang out spot, will def be back.

Philly’s most famous brewpub, extremely convenient location. Surprisingly set on the second floor of a smallish downtown house. Two main rooms with brown furniture that darken the place that could really use a severe lighting upgrade. There seems to be nice wooden accessories, church-like benches, but they’re not very visible and the place leaves a dull first impression. The food menu is rather limited and its quality was average although the prices were very reasonable. Slightly confused service that was a bit slow on a seemingly quiet Saturday evening. We tried 4 different beers and they were all in the high 2s to low 3s range, not particularly memorable. Even though its location can hardly be beat, next time I’m in Philly, I’ll avoid and go straight to the beer bars, there are plenty within walking distance.

The beer was amazing. I can’t remember what I ate or the server, but the beer was absolutely perfect. If you go here, order the Grog.

Good brewpub located in the heart of Philly, within walking distance of several amazing beer bars. Their BPA is one of the best session beers I have ever had, its a perfect combination of hoppy and smooth, and straight up amazing when they have it on cask. The food is high quality bar fare, and nicely priced for downtown, which makes it a great place to start a center city bar crawl.
