 48 Actually went on St. Patricks Day. Empty!
Food was good. Beer was ok. Bartender was not busy, but not too talkative either. For the love of beer....I’ll try it again. |
 62 Fantastic food and fresh beer. The bartender was fun and friendly. After being poo poo’d on by Monk’s that evening, the beer never tasted fresher and colder, and the people never felt nicer. |
 56 Visited 3 August 2008 (Sunday) at 9PM. Bar was packed - and they were running a trivia competition (which they apparently do every Sunday). No traditional sampler, but they sold me 7oz samples of each of their beers for $2 each. Beers were all better than average, with the Alt and BPA Pale Ale standing out.

 82 Very comfy and casual atmosphere in a cool, old building. Service was very good. Just had some of the appetizer sampler plates - all were pretty good. Beers were tasty. The beer sampler is basically served in tumbler glasses - much bigger than most places. |
 74 I’ve been here a twice, and both times were enjoyable. Very casual atmosphere. It’s got an old pub feel to the place. The first time we went was for lunch on Friday, and the place was practically empty. The food is excellent. Their vegetarian dishes are very good. The service is quick and attentive. The selection isn’t huge, but the beer has always been solid. The Monkey Knife Fight is something different, but in a good way. |
 66 Went to this place on a Friday evening, almost every other bar was packed with a 30+ minute wait, except for this place. ice open space on the second floor, ample seating. Did not try the food, just the beer. Staff seemed a little hurried and surly. Beer was great, a lot of good selections on tap. Decent restroom (clean). |
 66 Parking stinks. I did stumble into the Samson Street Oyster House by mistake - it’s hard to see the actual upstairs door entrance, even with the big sign. Beer went from average to pretty good. I had a roast chicken, which was great, but the rice was just some of the pre-cooked junk that they blow into restaurants with blower trucks. Barkeep was attentive. The hall leading to the upstairs bar smelled a bit dank and musty. Got a little crowded with Eagles fans on a Monday Nite Football night. The Monkey Knife Fight was a very interesting brew. They also have a Berliner Weisse on tap, which took some stones to brew. |
 80 Been here twice and will probably go back in the future. Very realistic decor and doesn’t try to be showy. Service is pretty good. Selection is pretty interesting I think for a brewpub. Sometimes they have the not so usual stuff. Only had the burger here and it was damn good I thought. I live in Brooklyn and I love the Brooklyn scene. Maybe that is why I dig Nodding Head so much. |
 72 Food was suprisingly interesting: White bean hummus with pub fare. It was kind of crowded and the waittress wasn’t always paying attention to us. The beer was good (especially the Monkey Knife Fight). Overall a good experience; space is tight though. |
 76 Had lunch here while at a Conference in Philadelphia for work. This is a smaller second story brew pub. Has an older English Style pub feel. Friendly and inviting atmosphere. Nice staff and a great place to grab lunch while in the city. I had the Baked Brie as my meal. Listed as an appetizer but plenty for one person. The Brie is coated in toasted almonds and served with Pita Bread. Very good! The beer sampler is big. Seven ounce samples of all the beers they have on tap. The day I was here they had 6 beers on tap. Glad I had a chance to try this place out. |
 62 Micro brew bar in Philadelphia that focuses on interesting beers. Its a smallish bar with a interesting environment with "surprising" lots of bobble heads. Food looks good but i can’t say i’ve actually eaten there. If you don’t know your looking for it your probably going to walk straight past it as its upstairs of an oyster bar. Luckily there’s a parking garage right across the street for easy access. The music selection is horrible with a poorly programmed systems, the bartenders know alot about their own beer, however their stocking of liquor is lacking |
