Old Bag Of Nails

Overall Old Bad of Nails is good, but beer selection is limited. Food is average bar type food you’d expect from an Applebee or Max and Erma. It is all good, but there are other places offering better beer selections and food in Powell.

(Visited 11/2012): The Powell location of Old Bag occupies the space formerly taken by Lost Shepherd. It is on Powell (Olentangy) Rd west of the downtown area. There is a private lot behind the building as well as street parking on Powell.

The interior opens to table and booth seating, with the bar beyond. Dark colors with hanging lights, and gray brick walls with large old photographs. TVs behind the bar.

Old Bag in Powell has 12-15 draught beers with highlights from Southern Tier, Thirsty Dog, Brooklyn, Bells and Green Flash. Bottles from macros and larger craft breweries as well.

Service at the bar was pretty good on a weekday evening. The bartender was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about the beers.

Old Bag is known for their fish and chips, which I consider amongst the best in town. Good sandwiches too.

All in all there usually something worthwhile beer-wise at Old Bag of Nails, and this location is no exception. Nice to see another good place for beer in Powell.
