72 Definitely the best place in Kouvola and not too shabby in general either. The decor is pretty standard kitchy Irish Pub style with some local sports memorabilia. Beer selection quite good: couple of guest taps and then Guinness et al. Bottle selection pretty impressive but pricing outrageous. Better avoid the evenings with ice hockey / baseball games, gets too noisy then. |
70 The one & only place to have decent beers in Kouvola. About 30 different bottles of beer and some ciders. Nice pub snacks, warm sandwiches etc. |
56 Decent pub in Kouvola. Spent many evenings there in 1999-2004. Beers typical Finnish with some regular Guinness and Newcastle Ale. Today most likely even more. If only the customers would look little more classy. |
76 Best pub in town, staff is friendly, ambiance is nice and the beer selection keeps growing. |
76 Nice fresh look (renovated 2011)
Warm and kindly staff and know what they sell. Over 50 different whiskey and beers.. Nice range of ciders. Easy to come year after year. Really gem at Kouvola! |
56 Pretty ordinary Irish type pub in Finland. Beer selection is not so impressive, round 20 different in bottles and nothing out of ordinary. 10 beer taps (3 of them Karjala) and 3 ciders. Staff was friendly and helpful but like in so many places in Finland they only know if beer’s dark, pale or something inbetween. Quite peaceful on Friday afternoon. Update. On a summer Saturday evening they only serve beer outside. Big patio in a park next door. Beer selection was rather limited but they had Suomenlinnan Kaiku which is brewed for Kymijoki Beer Festival held in Kouvola. |
24 I’ve been at this place for a couple of times as my wife is from the city of Kouvola. So far this is the only place that I’ve found here that serves anything else than normal finnish lager. This dosen’t meen that they are good. They have Caffreys and Guinnies at tap toghether with some finnish lager. On bottle they have another 10 sorts of beer. They do have more whisky brands (around 25). The service was not the best. There were 3 tables there and I still had too wait like 5 min too get served. |
60 A nice pub in the basement. They serve decent Guinness stout on draught and are skilled to make the pint properly. Nice atmosphere. Friendly personnel. |
