Rockwells is off the beaten path for most of Houston. It’s in a strange strip mall, and is rather unexpected. The beer selection is great, with fresh tap rotation and a rather deep bottle selection as well. Food is pretty good. Service is spotty at times. Average pricing.

Visited on Wednesday evening and kind of hit the jackpot as a group of beer lovers gather every Wednesday here and exchange beers. Wow. Good selection available and service is perfect, got some nice advise on beer. Food is typical American pub food, good and plenty. definately a palce I recommend.

Talk about your boonies, but obviously much loved by the locals. It has a wide selection of varied bottled and draft beers. I had a couple of fresh pints of Old Chub Scotch Ale - just fine! And a special treat, the latest version of Real Ale’s Mysterium Verum, a barrel-aged Coffee Porter that tastes more like a superb bourbon. Thanks to Vince Navarro, I am a new fan (even if it is 30 miles from home).

Neighborhood bar/grill in NW Houston that caters to all. Decent 50-60 bottle selection of various micros and macros. 10 or so taps including No Label and Southern Star. Food is primarily bar food but an interesting menu of beef/meat dishes with the burgers being very good. Service can be very spotty and the owners are not the most friendly people that don’t seem to appreciate the customers’ business.

Surprisingly robust selection of varied bottled beer. You can tell that they mostly sell crappy miller/coors type stuff but someone there loves good beer and it shows as you peruse the extensive list. I had a DFH 60 minute and an SN Torpedo. The first was perfect the second was a bit past its prime. My guess is that the list isn’t turned over all that quickly and while I bet it is all refrigerated, much of the beer is not in tip top shape.

This place is a gem in the suburbs. They have the best selection of craft beer in Northwest Harris County and the food is addicting.
