78 Walked over from Alembic, quick 15 minute mostly flat walk. Yet another SF brewpub with serious money behind it. Definitely full on brew pub mode here. Busy but not crowded, so I got a seat right away. As noted below, they do a set flight of their own beers, but it was a good selection for a first timer at least, so I ordered that. I think it was $12. They had a bunch of taps; I think 8 of theirs and a half-dozen guest beers as well. I also ordered a bowl of the Vegan chili, which was quite tasty. Lot of quality variation in the flight, but mostly things were pretty tasty. Low point may have been the double IPA> |
70 Visited for a SF beer week event, 2016. Good selection of their own beer on tap along with the event beers including some rare and one-offs. Service was to be expected for a busy night and the prices were reasonable. They do flights, but only for select beers on the menu and they are usually pre-set. |
78 Visited during San Francisco beer week. They had a selection of Eagle rock and own beers on tap. 18 taps in total. They offer flights of 6 beers, however you are not able to choose the beers. They do offer half pours, but the smallest they do is 10oz pours. We had some snacks during happy hour - sliders and sweet potatoe fries. Nice relaxed atmosphere inside. |
82 Sunday evening, 6:00. About 1/3 full, and super casual atmosphere. Grabbed seats at the bar and started off with the set flight. $10 for 6x3oz beers, with a different set each week, though I’d guess there’s some standards on there. Everything else is available for a 3oz pour for $2 or less. Fairly hip and young crowd. 18 taps, with 3 that were out when we visited. 9 taps of their own (a 10th of their own was kicked), and some other California guest taps. House beers were all above avaerage, but nothing overly wowed me. Got a couple of appetizers, both good. Service was good, our server was super friendly. Was worth the hike out here from where we were staying, pretty easy access via the bus. Seems like a great local spot. |
84 Visited on a Wednesday evening in November 2015. It’s a short walk from 9th/Iriving stop on N Tram route from the City Centre. 2 levels of seating, we sat at the bar and tried a sampler tray. Also had a cask special of the Stout conditioned with chilli which was offered as a free sample. Tried all the beers brewed at the venue, even swapped one we’d tried for an off piste choice. Decent guest list from local brewers too.
Bar staff were really friendly and pointed out the brewer as could see we were into beer.
Really nice place, worth the trek out to it. Highly recommended. |
80 i like them better than their in-city rank says. way better than average beers, even within mediocre styles. cool little place, good food. I’ve been back a few times. |
64 Kind of a neat little brew pub. There was a reasonable number of brews on tap, but they were heavy on the lighter beers like saisons and pils. Only one IPA at the time I visited. The porter and the pale ale I had were good, and the food was good as well. |
78 Love the ambience, nice wood ceiling, nice long bar. Beer selection ok. -a couple on the list out. Service a bit unattentive but friendly. |
76 Stopped by after a Giants game today. This place is typical of a lot of SF bars/restaurants,narrow and long. Nicely shaped bar and the brewing equipment sits up stairs behind glass. Tried one of the IPA’s, a saison, and a couple of different entree items. The saison was a collaboration with a winery, and was very good. Overall a very pleasant experience with above average beer and service. |
72 Visited during SF beer week, day after the Strong Beer event and all beers were still on. Nice space, good size by SF standards I’d say. Brewery is upstairs and behind glass so the brewhouse and tanks are visible. Walls were mostly brick and bar was wood and glass, nice feel. Bartender was nice, accommodating and poured us a couple of tastes then hooked us up with a strong beer sampler. Beers were solid with no flaws and we ended up ordering a couple of pints after we finished our sampler. They also had a full bar and food, but didn’t have or even look at a list for either. Worth visiting for sure. |
