This place definitely a relaxed vibe during the week. Has a bit of dive bar beer bar feel to it. Food was solid with some Belgian touches. I thought my hamburger was tasty and tasted of burger. The tap list is split between NC and other craft. They had a nice bottle list as well with some rarities that they’re aging in their basement. It was a pretty nice evening.

One of my favorites in the area, if only because it is a real Belgian restaurant that is not too expensive and pretty authentic. Really good mussels in mega proportions. Seriously, a bucket of mussels here took me around 30 minutes to get through. 18 beers on tap- not necessarily all Belgian. Big emphasis on quality over quantity with a taplist rotation that is quick enough to warrant a chalk board rather than a printed out menu (thank god). FOLLOW THEM ON TWITTER @beeratmilltown since ratebeer won’t let me edit this place page. They don’t update facebook too often. Expect Dark Horse, Olde Hickory, Moyans, Lagunitas, Founders, Aviator, Stillwater, Duck-Rabbit, Green Flash, B. Nektar, Allagash, Foothills, and more. By far the most diverse tap list in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area and the food and ambiance is spot on French/Belgian bistro. Food is phenomenal. A major upgrade to beer places in the area.

The beer selection is always changing, usually lots of Belgians, but definitely get the prime rib sandwich !

I’ve been here a few times and been pleased with my visit each time. Their mussels are great, served in a big bucket with a variety of seasoning choices and hunks of bread. It has a Irish pub feel inside and a pretty large, partially covered outdoor patio. The patio’s nice but can get smoky. The beer selection’s quite good, hitting the Belgians heavily, then a few well-chosen local and American craft beers. They rotate the beers, so even without a "Tyler’s" sized list, there’s always something interesting to try. Great little place.

been several times now, like 5 tables and 2 booths as you walk in, then a few more booths before you hit the bar, L shaped bar with like 12 to 15 chairs and a narrow table with spinning round stools. Dining area has 6 or so various size table, nice big patio area with a somewhat protected area with tables and a few big picnic table outside. Inside is a little dark, but not detrimental, projection TV for sporting events. Music seemed loud. I’m an old fart though. Kind of an industrial look, but has some warm colors and some things on the wall that makes it feel friendly. Service has always been good when I’ve gone but I’m typically there when it’s not crowded so it ought to be good, So far food has always been good, I had the fish taco’s this last time and thought they were great. everything I’ve had had been done well. Big on the Belgian beers, but some NC and American micros. I had the Big Boss aces & ates this time. Wife had Highland Gaelic.

I have been to Milltown a few times. They have the best selection of Belgians in the area, and serve in proper glassware. The food is above average for bar fare. Their patio is the perfect place to sit back and have a few with some friends - I find the bar itself a bit dark for my liking.

This was my second time to Milltown - the first time was a couple of years ago. Just as I remembered: great tap list, extensive (though pricy) selection of Belgian beers, and very good food. We had a cheese plate which featured some nice, tasty, runny cheeses and interesting, savory contrasts (black olives, piquillo pepper and onion jam). The entrees were steak frites and mussels. We’ve had the Belgianmussels and thought they were great (scallions, garlic, beer). This time we ordered the Spanish mussels (chorizo sausage, tomatoes, garlic, and onions). Very, very good mussels. The steak was tasty too. The fries were good but a little over-salted.
